We have just returned and booked seperately to get what we wanted and it really was not a hassle.

Also, The Washington Post ran an ad in the travel section this weekend for discounted rates from mid April to mid June. I would check out their website and get the info this might be the answer to your prayers.

Well after not hearing from DCL in a few days I checked our ressie online. Has anyone noticed there is a $10 per person charge added to their ressie for the Airline security fee?? It is there and letters are soon to follow. So I decided to call again. This time Mary at DCL packages was very helpful. She stuck with her offer of the lagoon view at the Poly but did also offer an upgrade to Cat. 4 from 6. She also said she would waive the airline fee. So we are happy with that.

Looks like you got what you wanted. Congratulations! However, I am like everyone else and wonder how it can replace the sentimental value of staying at the Contemporary with an upgrade in categories on the ship.

Definitely, if you can get a lagoon at the Poly or any room at the GF, do it! I understand the frustration - I was booted out of POR which I really wanted (but got WL, which was definitely a step up).

Bill, while there may be some sentimental value to you in staying at in the CR tower, I can almost guarantee that your child couldn't care less about your sentimental moment, and would have a much better time at the Poly!!! It's a great themed hotel, while the CR is ... well, it just isn't the least bit "contemporary" any more.
Even better than the Poly for a kid, however, is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. A beautiful hotel that is like walking into another world, and the animals really are just outside your window.
