We are overnighting at the MCO Hyatt before oure July 24 cruise. 1st time for this - my question to all you veterans is: do we have to leave at a specified time or can we go out at say 11:30ish and board a bus????? DS(13)'s godparents live in Orlando and want to come and have a leisurely brunch with us before we leave for the port. thanks!!

Not sure Hyatt DCL buses leave that late but best thing is to check with DCL rep that morning at 8:30 or 9:00 ish to see when the latest bus leaves.

You can probably catch the DCL bus from the AIRPORT area instead of the Hyatt and leave that late.

If you don't have a tight connection AFTER the cruise, have you thought about meeting them the day you return for brunch? That would probably give you lots more time since you could get to the airport by 10:30 or 11:00 easily.

If you purchased your transfer with DCL, from MCO Hyatt to the Terminal via DCL bus, when you check in the night before at the Hyatt you are given a letter from DCL. I believe it states the time to have the luggage out - tagged - outside your hotel room door the following morning (maybe 8:00 am). Then it states to meet the DCL rep in the lobby (I believe it was 9:00 ish).

There were several reps standing in the lobby who checked documents and led us to a conference type room. There they checked us off a list and told us which bus we would be on - "Minney" "Mickey" "Donald" - first come - first to get on the first bus.

We then watched a Disney cartoon in a conference room that looked like a classroom - chairs with a desk that went along the entire aisle which made it easy to fill out any last paperwork.

Then they called "MINNIE" and some of us went to board the bus.

You could ask the Disney rep in the lobby what time would the last bus be leaving. Oh my.... I would be jumping out of my skin just watching all these people leaving to get on the bus to go to the terminal. I'd ask the godparents to have a quick bite at the hotel restuarant and watch all the excited families that are getting ready to cruise! You can check your family in with the DCL rep in the morning and still visit in the lobby and still hear your bus called. And then they can wave you off - there - how sweet is that!

The lines at the terminal get very long. One good thing, if you enjoy your visit with relatives and board later, you'll miss the lines and just walk on board. Just be sure to find out what time the last DCL bus leaves.

Have a great time on your cruise! Enjoy every minute!

Not sure how many are in your party, but you might consider car service. We did this, and will be doing it again in Feb'05.

At check-in at the Hyatt, we told the clerk that we are DCL guests. We left our luggage out, and Disney picked it up at around 8:30 AM. Our car service, Happy Limo, picked us up at about 10:30AM.

Depending on the number in your party, town car service may be less expensive than the DCL bus.

The luggage pick-up by DCL is complimentary, even if you are not using the bus. One of the perks you get for staying at the Hyatt!

I agree with using a car service...then you can tell them what time you want to leave, you are not at the mercy of a bus schedual.

I am sorry, but the luggage transfers are not a benefit of using the Hyatt. The luggage transfers are handled by DCL and are a perk for paying for transfers from the airport to the port. If you take a towncar to the port, you can still get the luggage transfer service for a cost of $24 for the first 6 bags and 4 dollars a bag for more than that.

Please don't leave your luggage at the Hyatt unless you have paid for the service. While it is true that the bags might be picked up and sent to the ship, they might not. DCL is getting stricter on this.

If you purcahse the transfers from DCL do you still have to check in at the terminal or is it done before you get on the bus?

I purchased my cruise via Expedia (with the standard DCL transfers), and plan to stay the night before at the Hyatt. Is the transfers from the Hyatt different from the standard DCL transfers from MCO? Do I have to inform Expedia, DCL, or the Hyatt (when I make my reservations), that I will be taking the DCL Bus from the Hyatt?

Thanks in advance!

Wow!!! Thank you everyone for all the information and the very helpful suggestions. We did purchase the DCL transfers, however, we may only use the bus on the return. From what you have all said they will definitely take our luggage - whew, a relief. But ds has not seen his godparents in 2 years. They have suggested meeting us for breakfast and then they will drive us on over. So, do you think this will work? Can we still turn in paperwork, etc. and get checked in with the bus gang and then just opt to not ride the bus?

Thanks again everyone.
