DCL bus from resort: How to notify of plans?

We will be staying at POR for a few days prior to our cruise. We are taking DCL transfers from POR to the cruise port. When I did online check in, it asked me about our flight plans, but there was nowhere to note that we would be coming from a resort the day of the cruise and would need the DCL bus to pick up there. I did notify the TA who booked the cruise portion of our trip that we would need transfers from POR to the pier. Is this sufficient? I guess I was just expecting there to be somewhere on the online check in to indicate where we would be coming from that day. Thanks!

As long as you have DCL booked (your reservation will say POR under Pick Up and Port Canaveral under Drop Off, or something like that), you can check in with the DCL representative at the resort. You will then be notified the night before your cruise when your luggage will be picked up from you room and when you have to check in at the lobby for your bus departure. No problem. It is very well organized. Enjoy your cruise!

Easy breezy. Just like previous poster said, as long as you have DCL transfers booked. We got picked up from French Quarter last trip. Very relaxed and great way to start things off.

I'm sure your travel agent would have let the DCL transportation know. You paid through them right? You will get a letter the night before in your room telling you when to have your luggage ready for them take. They knock on the door at that time and take it . It is not left outside. We were still in bed when they came for ours...lol Make sure they do not take anything you will need for the day just the luggage you want them to take by the door. You don't even have to be there for them to pick up that is why I say have that by the door and your carry on stuff away for that. Don't forget to put your cruise luggage tags on before they take them and take all other airport tags off. Want them to go to the port not the airport.

We have done this transfer twice. It is really rather smooth. They have you meet in the bar by the lobby. Someone from the cruise line is there to check you in.

Enjoy your trip!

What time did DCL transfers pick you up?

What was your boarding number/when did you board the ship?

I think our pick up was around 11:45am. It can vary. And you can stop at other resorts. We did not need a boarding number as it was open boarding by the time we arrived. So check in and walk straight on the ship.

That was the same for us , they do pick up from other resorts. Still get there about 1-1:30 . Open boarding by then , walk on after checking in. It is nice because you can almost just go drop off your bags and go eat lunch.

They don't always have a rep in the hotel (or sometimes there is a desk but no one there). Not to worry. As long as your paperwork states that you have transfers, they'll leave a letter hung on your room doorknob about 8 pm the night before. They've always picked up luggage at 8 am and you don't need to be in the room. It just needs to be near the door and tagged.

We've been picked up as early as 10:30 and as late as 12:30. They may have changed things recently but we always had to pick a port arrival time. However, you typically get there after open boarding is called so it's pretty much irrelevant. There's no lineups, check in takes 2 minutes, walk onto ship right after check in, and able to go to room, if not immediately, then within about 30 minutes.

The letter will tell you where to meet. We've met in one of the lounges in the BWI, lobby of the GF, and the garden room/conservatory (can't recall what it's called) of the BC. There's always someone to greet you, check you off the list, keep you informed, make sure you get on the bus and generally keep things organized.

Thanks for the helpful responses! We have booked the transfers and the fact that we have done this shows on our online reservation, but it doesn’t state pick up location (resort vs airport). Should I be able to view this anywhere to verify they have that info? My concern is that since there was no place to enter resort info (only flight info) on the online checkin they will assume we are needing transportation from the airport, not the resort. But you would assume telling the cruise booking TA would be sufficient?
