The number of points required for a cruise also varies by season, and for the 7 night cruise, the itinerary (Eastern or Western)makes a difference.
For example, a 7 night cruise on the Magic (Western Caribbean) during the summer in a cat 6 cabin is:
247 points for each of the first two people in the cabin
19 points for any children 2 and under in the same cabin
110 points for children 3-12 in the same cabin
136 points for all others in the same cabin
In addition to the points, DVC charges a $75 fee to book a
DCL reservation.
I have a chart of 2003 DCL point requirments that I can email to you. It's in .pdf (requires Acrobat Reader) format. Send me a PM with your email address if you want it.
Annual maintenance fees for DVC vary by resort and depend upon the number of points owned. For 2003, according to a previous post by WebMasterDoc, they are, per point owned:
OKW- $3.49
HH - $3.69
BCV - $3.97
VWL- $4.05
BWV- $4.10
VB - $4.37
The actual fees paid for 2003 will be less that that, though. Since actual taxes were less than the estimated taxes, dues at BWV this year are actually just a fraction of a cent over $4.00. I assume a similar situation exists for the other resorts.
Hope that helps - it's probably way more info than you were looking for. Good luck with your decision!
