does anyone know the truth about the possibility of the magic going to either: europe, alaska, or california in 07? heard this and have called 3 reliable disney sources and all say it is a rumor.

Right now they are booking Caribbean trips through April 2007 on Disney Magic. My guess is that it's just a rumor...

Disney hasn't said what special cruises they are doing for 2007. Maybe one will go to Europe but don't expect one to go to Alaska for awhile. I don't know if Disney is planning on taking the Magic back to the Pacific for 2007. we will just have to wait and see.

Considering the success of what they have now, I can't imagine a complete change of location for the ships will happen very often.

When the new ships are finally built...that's a different story

On the 10/29 Magic we were teased with both Med and Alaska options, but no definite plan was revealed.

On our first cruise in '03 they had surveys at the end of the cruise and asked what other cruise destinations we would be interested in. The list of choices included the Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii, and a bunch of other exotic places. I think they break out the survey every so often and then rumors start to fly.

Disney would only move a ship if it makes sense dollar wise.

My extended family is planning a 7 night cruise in July ’07 to celebrate my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. If they move the Magic to the Mediterranean, then we will need to seek alternative plans. Add the cost of flying to Europe on top of the cruise , and it’s out of the question for us.

Well, from what we were told on our cruise, a new destination is definitely going to happen... we just don't know when.

DCL likes to posiiton itself near its theme parks for the pre/post cruise land/sea options.

also from past posts, the two DCL ships cannot handle the constant cold and rigid waters or small icebergs of Alaska.

on our cruises they talked about the possibility of another ship and alternative destinations.....i don't think any of that is concrete....it just keeps the customers interested....

personally i wish they'd reposition to europe for the summer....then i'd be able to go on a DCL cruise without making that long trip to the US.....
and i'd love to go on the trans-atlantic repositioning cruise too...
