DCA Segway Tour Questions

I booked the segway tour for our upcoming trip over the phone. I keep getting different information regarding the tour. Everything I have read (and from what people have posted on here )says park admission is not required. Yet, two different cast members told me it is. Also, does anyone know of any discounts for the DCA segway tour other than AP?

According to the official Disney website you do not need admission to take the tour, however those who do not have daily admission will be escorted to the esplanade at the end of the tour.

Thanks for your reply and the link to the Disneyland website. I called for the third time after I read the website and the CM said again that there is only AP discounts available. Also, she said you have to have park admission. I read to her what the website said but she said the info she had was correct. Oh well. It is very frustrating to get conflicting information. I'll guess I'll find out what the real story is one week from today when my DH and I take the tour.

Ladygator, I would like to know this information as well. We are going in September for our anniversary, but our AP passes expire on the 4th and we would like to do this on the 5th. Would also love to hear your review of the tour. Thanks!

Just when I said I wouldn't be going to Disneyland for a while, they finally start up the Segway tour. Now I'll have to figure out when I can get a quickie trip in. We love the Around the World Segway tour at Epcot.

When I went in June, it was explained that park admission was required. No one checked it though. Our tickets for the tour were not even collected until the conclusion of the tour.

Apparently, they are now escorting all Segway Tour participants out of the park after the tour. They will ask you if you want to stay in DCA, and if you do they will scan your ticket at that time. If you are not planning to stay in DCA, you are escorted out the gates.

They've been asking this at the end of the tour, when you get your pictures.

I just recently booked a tour for myself, my boyfriend (both of us are APers), my dad and my brother (non-APers) for July 28th.

I was told park admission was not required and like previously posted anyone without a ticket or an AP would be escorted outside of the park, however if you had tickets you could stay. The woman that was helping me offered a discount for AP holders, AAA Members and Disney Visa Card holders. I got myself and my boyfriend the AP rate and my dad and brother the AAA rate. All of us were $79 each.

The tour has to be paid for in advance (when the reservations are made) and is completely non-refundable. She stated the only time you would be refunded is if the tour itself was cancelled (I am assuming based on weather or lack of attendance?).

Good to know about the AAA discount! I am still thinking I may do this for DH in October ....if I can save up for it before hand!!!

Just a quick update. I finally got a CM to investigate the discrepancy between the website and the info the CMs were giving out. After a long time on hold (their manager talking to their manger), they finally agreed to give me a 20% credit. I guess they are agreeing that the website is correct. So if anyone tells you that they do not give discounts other than AP be persistent. Have them check the wording on the website and ask for managers if needed.
