Aloha,

Based upon the re-routing of the monorail and the move of the bus loading zone to across the street that the footprint for DCA's new Marvel Land may rival or exceed that of SWL. It has the potential to be 10-14 acres. Huge.

Secondly, has anyone heard or read any specifics on the new Marvel Land? Besides ToT changing over to the GOTG?

For so long we complained about the lack of new rides at DLR, and now we're witnessing an un-precedent growth. Awesome!

As for the theme at DCA, I am very confident Disney will make the transition from Hollywood to Marvel Land very smooth.

So many thoughts in my head right now.

First, what's to say Marvel will take up all the Hollywood area? It's speculated, sure, but there's that huge parking lot behind ToT/GotG, too. Do they really need that much of DCA? I wonder if maybe something else is in store for that area.

Second, the only information out there on Marvel Land is that it might be called Super Hero HQ (speculation though based on possible inclusion of BH6 and Incredibles and some random signs). A ton of people on other forums will show you map overlays of possibilities, but right now that's all any of it is--a possibility. I think we won't hear too much until D23 next year.

I'm sure DCA will transition well and hopefully have as much success as they did with the 2.0 Buena Vista Street transformation, but I feel like it's time to drop the C in DCA if a third of the park becomes Marvel themed. If only part of it is Marvel and the rest gets some sort of other re-do (I like the idea that's been tossed around about a Mickey Ave. and a Mickey dark ride, but again, just an idea someone had at this point) I would feel a little better about it. I have faith in Disney, but nothing Marvel takes place in California (except BH6 sort of and Stark's mansion) so the whole California theming thing at this point may just be out the window.

I guess I don't get where people are up in arms about removing the "C" DCA. The park is in California. I see it like there is Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, etc. Should Disney build another non-Disneyland theme park in one of those places, it would become Disney Toyko Adventure etc. It's simply designating (now) where the park is located. I know it was originally built to honor CA roots, but it can also signify the location of the park.

Here, here!
Being all about Cali was the original intention of the park. Everyone hated that park. Since then they have added new lands including one honoring "A Bug's Life" (Location unknown) and "Cars" (Location either Kansas or Arizona), and Soarin' has gone international. Change has already come. California is where the park is, and thus the name fits, however the lands in the park have gone.

Looking forward to a massive new influx of rides and attractions! I love the idea of getting an *Avengers: West Coast* ride, or better yet one based upon *The Runaways* (Heck, given the corporation seems like it is trying to turn DCA into a haven for local teens, *The Runaways* fits pretty darn perfectly). This is a super exciting period in Disney's history, but I can't wait for the next chapter. It. Will. Be. EPIC.

Would be really cool if they add a forced perspective "Stark / Avengers Tower".
