DCA: for the Non-Thrill Seekers?

Half our party will be riding Tower of Terror and Screamin', and the other half will run screamin' from both those attractions! Any unique suggestions for time fillers for the non-riders? I really want out family to be all together as much as possible, but there are some of us who are not willing to compromise for these rides. What's nearby these rides? I thought the Bakery tour might be good, but I don't think it will take us long enough. I also considered planning those rides last, and then sending the non-riders to DLR, but that obviously wouldn't be ideal for wait times.

Will you be there for WOC?
If you are, you might consider having the half ride TOT & CS while the other half gets in line for WOC.

Let them go off to ride TOT & CS. While the rest of you go pull Soarin' FP's for the entire group and take the Bakery Tour. If the Bakery Tour doesn't take as long then mingle around.

Once their finished riding, have them contact you to meet up again.

Yes. Leave them home. People who say "No" all the time at DLR are no fun.

If you have small children, we've ridden the carousel that's right by CA Screamin' (over and over and over...LOL). We've gone to watch Playhouse Disney (now I think it's Disney Jr.) while others have ridden ToT.

TSMM is near CA Screamin' also, but that wait would be just as long, if not longer than the roller coaster.

I also love browsing the boardwalk shops or sitting on a bench and people watching if I'm not on those rides. That's harder to do when you have a child who doesn't want to sit still or not touch everything.

Looking straight at TOT you have Bugsland on the right.. and then to the left you have The Aladdin Show , and then Monsters Inc.. and then down the street you have the animation academy which is so much fun.. There is also the Redwood Challenge up near Grizzly River Run.. if they have F/P for the ride you may not have a lot of time to do a big thing.. if they have to do standby then of course its going to be a bit longer and you can determine then what you can do and where to meet up..

Sometimes its so much better to split up... stops grumbling in the ranks..

The Tower of Terror has some very interesting things to see while in the queue. I would recommend going through the line with your party. When you get to the elevator, just say you want to exit, and you will be taken to a regular elevator. You will only have to wait for your party less than 5 minutes in the gift shop.

Both rides often have short wait times through out the day. Most days they are pretty much walk ons until 10 am. You wont be waiting long while some members of your party ride if you go on them in the morning. Near ToT, you have Monsters Inc and all of the Bugsland attractions. The Aladdin show is nearby as well, if you dont go first thing in the morning. Screamin has the Carousel, the Ferris Wheel, TSMM (which will have a line that will be longer then Screamin,) and a short walk away you have Goofy Sky School (moderate thrill,) Jumpin Jellyfish, Silly Symphony Swings, and The Little Mermaid. If you do those rides early in the morning, you will minimize splitting your party up.

The non riders could go over and ride Soaring Over California while the others are riding screaming and TOT. Or go to Ghirardelli chocolate and get a awesome root beer float and people watch. Or see the Aladdin show, it is fantastic. Or go to Rita' s Margaritas and get a frozen margarita (they have regular and virgin drinks) and have a seat in the shade there at Pacific wharf and just kick back and relax. They don't have to ride stuff they are not comfortable with. Tons of other super cool things to do at CA.

Definitely check out the Sorcerer's workshop in hollywood land, we stumbled upon this gem by accident last time, looking for someplace cool to rest and it was awesome! You can walk though the beast's library and ursula's grotto and look at how animation is done and all sorts of really cool stuff.

I also second Aladdin. We go at least twice each trip! It is amazing!

We also LOVE muppet vision. It is hilarious.

If the non-thrill seekers like to draw they'll love animation academy, close to TOT. I could do that over and over. It's a 15 minute drawing class that happens every half hour, in the same building is Turtle Talk with Crush, a fun interactive show.

I love Screamin', but can only do it a few times in a row. When my kids go for their 4th or 5th turn, I usually take the chance to ride on King Triton's Carousel. It's not much of a thrill, which sounds perfect for half your group, and it's so beautiful. Instead of traditional horses, there are whales, sea lions, otters, and dolphins etc.

While the thrill seekers are on Screamin', you can wait by the boardwalk overlooking the place where the coaster launches. I've got great pics of our family on the ride right before they get blasted off.

The Ferris Wheel nearby looks innocent, but it's earned the nickname Mickey's Wheel of Death for a reason. Even the cabins that don't slide around are terrifying to my whole family.
