We always have to go to Pacific Warf for a breadbowl. He loves the clam chowder, and I adore the corn chowder. Lovin the fact that they have breakfast too, now.
Corn dogs are the best I've ever had, period.
People are always down on Ariel's Grotto, but I enjoy it. I think the price is right for lunch and dinner and have always liked the food. You can also hang out at the Cove Bar up top and enjoy a drink with bar food.
We really enjoyed the Trattoria, and the out door seating has a great view of the electrical parade. Even more, I loved the Vineyard Room. It's pricey, but if you're a foodie you'll love it.
One place in CA that I thought was horrible was Taste Pilot's. DH and I agree that they were the worst burgers outside of traditional fast food joints...and even then I think they were worse.
We love Carnation Cafe and Orleans, anytime of the day, but there's something special about breakfast in the parks. The beignets at the later are to die for. However, stay away from the 'mint julep', particulary if you like the real thing.
Blue Bayou we love, and it's not just about the ambiance, we love the food too. Again, the price seems right in line for the same sort of fare in the outside world.
In DTD, we love Catal (amazing food) and the Jazz Kitchen (great food, but be prepared for poor service).
We didn't care for Hook's Point, it just seemed run of the mill and not deserving of a special night out (and, to me, DL is always a special night out).
In general, DH and I stay away from counter service. We only hit it if we're needing a substansial snack between meals. Even then, we'll get the kids sizes and things a la cart.
Finally, do the wine tasting at DCA. Heck, grab a beer too. Pretend you're European for a day and actually feel free to walk around with it instead of hiding in shame in a beergarden.
