DCA entrance and Disney couture?

Hi

I'm visting Disneyland for the Christmas holidays - it the fourth time i'm visiting, but I have never been around the holidays - sooo excited!!

My question is: WILL THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO DCA BE FINISHED AT CHRISTMAS?
I live in Denmark, so it's not everyday, it get to go to California, so I would love to see it!!!

- another question! Is there any shops in Disneyland or DCA, where I can buy Disney Couture jewellery??

Hi, Rebekka! I hope you will join us over in the Disneyland at Christmas Time Superthread. Take a look at the first 3 posts on Page 1, and you will find all kinds of wonderful information about the season as well as enjoy many fantastic photos!

As for the entrance to DCA, sadly the candy cane striped CALIFORNIA letters will not be there this coming holiday season and the Golden Gate Bridge will probably be gone, but I think the new entrance is on schedule to be complete by the holiday season. I'm not sure, though. I keep thinking it will be running behind schedule.

HydroGuy will probably know more about the entrance progress than I do.

Oh no!! Haha.. I had hoped to see the new entrance! But there's something I don't understand!
I though that the golden gate bridge and the CALIFORNIA letters was gone. I thought that they began working on the entrance this January? And that the entrance is closed now - so you have to enter in a different entrance in both sides?
Maybe i'm just really bad at reading english, but in the link it says that the entrance will close in July and it will be closed for 8 months, so it will open like March/April 2012? But I thought it was closed now?? Confused!

It is confusing because there are two entrances: the turnstiles where they take you ticket and the entry street once you are inside the park.

Right now, there is a construction wall outside the gates. You walk around that to go through the turnstiles into the park. You then proceed straight ahead through a walkway lined with shops and services. This is the entry street.

Starting in August, the construction wall outside will be removed and you will proceed directly through the new turnstyles. Once inside however, you will take a sharp turn to your right and walk back stage to finally enter the park near Soarin' Over California. This is because they are completely redoing the inside the park entrance to create Buena Vista Street, which will function much like Main Street at Disneyland. This should be open in June, 2012.

Regarding your Disney Couture jewelry question, I would suggest you do some research online before going to the parks. Disneyland Park has a jewelry store on MS & you can also find jewelry on World of Disney (downtown Disney).

I have found better selection online, right now they have the Black Pearl inside a bottle necklace from POC, cutest necklace ever!!

They sell quite a bit of jewelry at Vault 28 in DTD, and in the Fortuosity shop on Main St. (next to Carnation Cafe). Fortuosity also happens to be connected to the actual jewelry shop on Main St. While I've never paid close enough attention to see if it's Disney Couture specifically, I do always gander at the items and that is where I've seen the most selection.

There are also some items in the jewelry section of the World of Disney store, but I believe that's more of a generic selection.
