DCA Early Mornings

I am staying at the DL Hotel with a 5 day park hopper. If we go straight to Radiator Spring racers when DCA opens for the extra magic morning how long of wait should I expect? Is this the best strategy? From what I am reading you can not get a fast pass until official park opening? I will have my 3 y/o so single rider is not an option for us.

If you use MM at DCA, expect to only wait 10 minutes or so. MM at DCA is really nice because unlike DL, MM is only for hotel guests so it's not nearly the same crowd of people. We did RSR first thing and never waited more than 10 minutes, then pull another FP at park opening =)

Awesome thanks! If we did it first off and then hopped in line to do it again is it likely the wait would still be low? 10-15 minutes? My son loves rides like this but is not great at long lines. Thanks for the input

It'll be up by then, maybe 20-30 minute wait?

You may confuse people with incorrect terminology. MM = Magic Morning. You get one MM with any multiday park tickets of 3 or more days. MM is only good for DL and only good on Tur, Thur, or Sat . EMH = Extra Magic Hour which you get for staying at any of the three Resort Hotels . It doesn`t matter what your admission is, single day, multiday , or AP. It is good for everyday of your stay and is good for DCA on Sun, Monday, Wed, and Friday .... and good for DL on Tue. , Thur., and Sat. , the same days as MM

I know! I confuse myself all the time! I still forget constantly which is which, and I think they end up confusing a ton of people with their different terminology!

With the new security procedures, is it better to use the GCA entrance on a DCA EMH morning, or is it better to go to the Esplanade? And yes, we'll be staying at the GCH, which would enable us to use the GCH entrance.

The entrance from the Esplanade is closer to RRS . ,plus with only two turnstyles at the GCH entrance to DCA it probably will take you longer to get in. If you use the main entrance make sure you line up for the booth marked Early Entrance and bring room keys for everyone in your party. You may be asked to show even the kids name on a room key

Agreed, add the fact that the special GCH entrance to DCA requires a security screening, that due to the retrofitting of the area, cannot open until park opening. Using the Main Entrance Plaza, you can get screened at the Sephora gate before opening and take your time getting to the turnstiles by opening. If you opt for the GCH-DCA entrance, you will be standing in line, and depending on when you get there, it could be long, waiting for the park to start EMH, and all those at the Main entrance are starting their day.

Of course, after the morning rush, take advantage of the perk.
