DH will be driving the church mini-bus to DC this weekend. We need to figure out which station would have the best bet at parking the bus in an outside spot. We're worried about clearance at the garages.

I'm really only familiar with the I-66 area stations. The group will be driving up 95 so we're looking at that corridor.

I'm pretty sure parking is free on the weekends but he does have a SmarTrip card just in case.

Any help would be appreciated!

Parking will be free on the weekend, so you're fine there.
We're on the I-66 side so don't have I-95 experience, sorry.
Wonder if Franconia-Springfield has an open lot in addition to their parking garage (like Vienna) ??
If you don't get an answer here, try calling their general info line 202-962-1234

BTW, have you seen the forecast for the weekend? RAIN

Parking is free on weekends.

I'm trying to remember about which stations would work...take a look at this webpage:

If you're coming up I-95, you can really only choose from the Yellow Line (Huntington Station off of Route 1/South of Alexandria) or the Blue Line(Franconia/Springfield Station or Van Dorn Street Station).

Huntington Station(on Franconia Road between Route One and Telegraph Road) used to have some outside/non-garage parking but I'm not sure what they have available now...there's been some construction around there fairly recently. I have no idea about the other two stations.

Here's the general information phone number: (202)637-7000
(available M-F/6am-8:30pm, Sat & Sun/7am-8:30pm)

Good luck,
agnes!

I am not an expert but I know that the King Street Station in Alexandria has outdoor parking. I thought Union Station did as well.

King Street only has metered parking, though you might be able to park at the area hotels and Union Station is in the middle of DC near Capitol Hill.

DC on weekends...I've always driven straight there and parked at the mall. It's pretty easy to get parking then.
