DC monster is back which I know you all know

Ok I am getting frustrated with the dc monster and the big white box. I logged in this morning and dc every 20 minutes for the first hour. Then it seems to get better. But I have also had 4 white boxes crashed.

And at least 4 other dc monsters. Is this what we have to look forward to again. And if it is because the game hits the almost maximum of players how do they ever plan to expand to have more people join.

The DC monster tends to leave me alone except when I'm in the Music mix lobby or if I've been trading with other family characters on the same computer- usually just shutting down and clearing cache fixes that if it is a problem

But I can't get on vmk now- getting "technical difficulties" after it goes to the holiday overview right before the kingdom should open but it doesn't

I haven't had issues with the dc fairy lately. All of the disconnects I've had have been from the broadband end of the connection, not the VMK end. I'm certain of that because when I've lost my connection to VMK I have lost my connection to other sites at the same time and everyone else in the house has lost their internet connections along with me. Whee!

I have had the white box of death a lot though. Not in the music mix game much to my surprise but in pirates and ghosts. The pirates white box usually shows up after the game has ended and before I get to the lobby. The credits and keys are in my account when I sign on again. Mansion isn't as nice. I usually get the white box of death mid-game so I don't get any credits.

I have also had the white box of death show up when I try to sign on. It's a pain but if it has to happen anywhere, that's the best place in my opinion.

I'm also having major explorer crashes due to VMK trying to execute data. Well, to be fair, it could be explorer, shockwave, VMK or anything else that is being used by explorer at the time but it only happens to me when I use VMK.

I haven't had white boxes of death with firefox but it usually freezes at random times. My guess is, it's the same problem as the white box problem. I've had this problem with firefox all along so I avoid using firefox for playing games. I think the problem has gotten a bit worse lately but I'm not 100% certain.

Since they put the docrations up i have not been able to play on firefox for it freezes every 30 seconds, so i X out and log in and freeze again. So now i have gone back to explorer, not getting the evil box but not as often today surprisingly.

How do you trade with family members on one computer. I tried that once with my daughter and when I went to the VMK homepage and clicked the Play Now or whatever it reloaded the log in screen on my game and got rid of what I was doing.

I use VMK pal and just open another instance-

But there are other ways...
When you click play the game and the log in window opens click on the log in window and then click Control and N and you will get a new window - you must do this before logging onto the game or it will do just like you said

which is the address for the page that opens when you do above...

I do this and then bookmark the page and save it too then I can easily open a new window whenever I want to- if you use the link you can open a new window and log on a new character without logging off your first...

Well, if you have Firefox, and explorer just use one on each. Or on just firefox you can open one up, and then after it loads X out of the homepage, and open a browser and go back and open another. I have not tired this in a while so so rry if it does not work.

i only crash when i am in the street party music game lobby.

My main issue with vmk now is the crashing. I use firefox 1.5.0.9; one of 2 things can happen:

a white box could pop up saying vmk crash, but firefox does not crash OR
a send error report dialog box pops up meaning firefox has crash completely due to vmk and/or shockwave issue.

If the latter happens, it's best to restart computer.

Some observations:
More crashes happen in team games especially if more than 2 people on each side. You may have a greater chance of crashing if more than one family member plays vmk at same time. Playing during peak vmk usage can also lead to more crashes.

Any freezes for me I attribute to major lag since the freeze usually lasts only a couple seconds.

The music mix has never been a significant problem for me. Slow at times, yes, but usually does not crash.

I have not been dcing so much as just IE shutting down on me. I haven't been crashing that much either. Just IE shutdown like right before a game is over and I am about to get my credit reward but instead I get IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.... blah blah blah

I have never seen the dc monster since they fixed it. But I was seeing the crash monster shortly after. I haven't seen the crash monster though for weeks.
