I just called member services regarding my cruise reservation in December. I booked it with points. How come we (DVC members) can not get the onboard credit if we are also a valid Disney Club member?

That really stinks if that is the case.

The Castaway Club (returning cruiser) shipboard credits are the only ones that have been allowed to DVC cruise ressies. Even at that, there was a time period when DVC/DCL suspended accepting those. For now they will credit the CC, but I understand that CC is downsizing the shipboard credits they make available to anyone.

DVC/DCL will not accept any other promotion nor combine it on a ressie made with DVC points. Sorry... :(

Any reason for this? When I figure out the cost of my points used for the cruise, I could easily cruise another cruise line for less. However, I do not want to. This will be my third Disney Cruise. I would think they would want to keep repeat cruisers happy. I don't understand what being a DVC member should have to do with it?

In fact, the whole CC promotion is being revamped as we speak. After May, the shipboard credits for being a CC member will be applied only if you book your next cruise while onboard your current one. Please see our Cruise Board for further details. :)
