I just called member services regarding my cruise reservation in December. I booked it with points. How come we (DVC members) can not get the onboard credit if we are also a valid Disney Club member?
The Castaway Club (returning cruiser) shipboard credits are the only ones that have been allowed to DVC cruise ressies. Even at that, there was a time period when DVC/DCL suspended accepting those. For now they will credit the CC, but I understand that CC is downsizing the shipboard credits they make available to anyone.
DVC/DCL will not accept any other promotion nor combine it on a ressie made with DVC points. Sorry...
Any reason for this? When I figure out the cost of my points used for the cruise, I could easily cruise another cruise line for less. However, I do not want to. This will be my third Disney Cruise. I would think they would want to keep repeat cruisers happy. I don't understand what being a DVC member should have to do with it?
In fact, the whole CC promotion is being revamped as we speak. After May, the shipboard credits for being a CC member will be applied only if you book your next cruise while onboard your current one. Please see our Cruise Board for further details.
