DC + Backstage Believe = too much for one day?

We're going to be on a tight schedule in July (convention at CSR) but I've promised my DS we'll take a full day to do Discovery Cove. So that is booked.

However he really wants to see Shamu as well. If I book the backstage dinner the same day as DC, is that realistic? or will we be too wiped out?

I don't want to have to taxi back to CSR in between. If we do it, can we simply walk to Seaworld from Discovery Cove?

Hi yes u could do it in summer hopefully the meal has a later time, as for getting there they do a shuttle to take you over, as you are on a tight schedule I'd say go for it, DC is relaxing also I'd suggest calling DC day before your reservation requesting a morning swim that way u can have an early lunch as well

When we were there last October, the Shamu meal was really early, around 4:15. It really isn't that great either - you don't get to see the orca very much. I would check the show schedule on Sea World's web site for your date to see if they have a Believe show later in the day that would work for you.

And, yes, you will be tired but no more so than any other day at the park.

Thanks very much - I couldn't find info anywhere about the shuttle. Since we have to eat anyway, I think we'll do the meal (have heard mixed reviews as here but also mixed reviews on Believe). If the kids have any energy left we'll stay for the show.

DC is an all day experience, lasting from the early morning to about 3-4pm in the afternoon. It's like being in a tropical paradise. I wouldn't worry about rushing off to SWF just to see a show. The kids might make friends with the fishes in the lagoon and want to stay. Many people report they have to drag their kids out. Your DC passes get you into SWF 7 days before or after your visit. It would be best to visit another morning when you can see everything. After your visit to DC, you'll want to have a relaxing dinner, go back to your hotel, and rest.

For our trip a few years ago, we stayed at the Renaissance Resort, which was located directly across from SWF. We finished our visit to DC around 5pm, went back to the room, cleaned up, then walked to SWF to see the fireworks because it was the summer and they stayed open until 10pm. So you can visit SWF if you're staying at a hotel near by. But if I was staying near Disney, I'd probably go back to my room, eat dinner, and call it a day.

There's not enough time, unfortunately. We're staying on Disney property for a convention and the one full day - our last day - is all we have for DC and SW. We'll devote the day to DC (given the $$$$ it's going to cost) and then hop next door for dinner since we have the SW admission, probably leaving SW right after dinner to go back to the hotel and crash.

You can easily spend the whole day in DC. Right now the dinnershow is at 4:15, so it doesn't give you much time in DC. The shuttle haven't got a schedule, so you can end up waiting for 30 min outside DC. I would go for the show another day. It's a good dinning experience and fun to be that close to the whale.
