We will be staying in Daytona for our 1st night in early November & looking to book somewhere to stay. We are a family of 4. Any suggestions?

I grew up down there. I would tell you if you have a young family or even teens I would stay outside the Daytona area. It looks okay on the outside to tourists and is fine during the day. But the beachside area of Daytona is home to so many homeless and drug addicts now. During the day and near the main areas everything is fine. Bel-Air Plaza is a nice shopping area on A1A but I would stay away from the boardwalk area. Ormond beach is the next town over about 5 minutes from the mid point of Daytona Beachside to Ormond. You can access both by just going straight down A1A. Ormond has a few nice places right on the ocean. The Cove is one but if its just for the night I would say maybe Quality Inns and Suites, or the Royal Floridian even .
If you do stay in Daytona on the beachside just stay as far north on a1a as you can and you will be fine. And whatever you do. Avoid anything located on Ridgewood ave! Dont be scared off by my description of Daytona . It has some really nice areas. Just having lived there I know where to avoid. If you get time check out St Augustine! Its my favorite place in Florida . Aside from WDW of course. Oh and there is this guy that owns a castle on the beach. he gives tours . He built it himself. Haha I am planning your one day trip! Anyway hope I helped. Have fun!:goodvibes
