I recently stayed at the Days Inn and was satisfied, especailly for the price.
The room was basic, nothing special , 2 double beds, tv, bathroom and the pool was nice.
The location was great, it was a 15 minute walk and even the closest hotels outside of Universal are 10 minutes. They did have a shuttle that runs twice in the morning and twice at night and if it is full, they will make another trip. Aslo it is around $4.75 to take a taxi one way. If you check out and want to use the shuttle, keep a room key, the driver often asks to see the key.
I had read some reports on this hotel and was worried but for the price, I would stay there again. The staff was very pleasant and there is a Dennys attached but the service is sloooow.
In the past, I read reports that some people complained there room it was not clean, but ours was.
Some others mentioned a moldy smell which I didn't notice either but I was with some friends who were at the Doubletree and the Holiday Inn and they were complaining about that smell too and the Doubletree was over 100 a night and the Holiday inn around that.
The only thing I would do different is transportation. It was 40 dollars via taxi each way and I woul look for a cheaper way to get there. If you go tot he Days Inn Universal web site they are suppose to have a transportion service that you pay one way and the other way is free. You need to call and find out more. I would've tried it if I had realized how much a taxi was.
Anyway, I hope this has helped. The Days Inn isn't the same as the Royal Pacific. If you are expecting that you will be dissapointed but if location and price is the priority you will be satisfied.
