Hi,
I just wondered if anyone has stayed at the Days Inn Maingate East and if so, how was it? We're just looking for a very cheap place to stay for 4 nights.

I was also wondering about the buffet breakfast that they serve there. Do you know what food is available?

And does anyone know how much the taxi fare is to Universal or Islands of Adventure from the hotel? They have a shuttle but it only runs once in the morning and comes back once at night.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Is this the one that is 2 doors down from Old Town??? If so, we've stayed here twice. Many people don't like it, but most people will also report about someone else's stay there I've found. It is a very basic, no frills hotel. We found the rooms to be clean and modern. We didn't eat there. We did try the shuttle once to WDW from there, and service was really spotty and undependable. So, we used our car from then on.

Thanks for the reply, kilee! I'm pretty sure that it's the same hotel we're talking about. I kind of figured that the lack of response prior to you was a good indication of how popular (or not) this hotel was! I appreciate your feedback re the shuttle as this was an important factor in looking at this hotel. Hmmm, we might have to go back to the drawing board on this one!

Thanks again!

we stayed there last month and it was quite disappointing, especially after we stayed there in 2005 and it was good. The rooms had not been renovated in quite some time. The bathtub did not have a stopper!!!! The room keys would not work each day (3) The toilets did not flush well, housekeeping was horrible.... it was very noisy at night, people were arguing and two different evenings. I will find somewhere else to stay before my scheduled time to enter the disney resort....

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. We were there around New Years for two nights at the end of our trip. It was gross--musty, bugs in the room, the walkway upstairs had holes under the carpet. I was afraid we were going to fall through. You can pay $5 or $10 more a night and find someplace much better. The Quality Inn next door looked considerably nicer.

We did not eat breakfast there. After finding vomit in the stairwell, we had lost our appetites.
