Hi All,

I had posted on the Orlando Hotels & Info board regarding this hotel, and then found some comments here regarding the Days Inn Suites.

Are these two connected? Both show that they are side by each and next to Old Town. I was wondering if anyone had any comments regarding the Days Inn - and not the Suites.

Any comments would certainly be appreciated. A friend of mine is going with her dh & dd for the first time, and I would prefer if they stayed somewhere which was (at least!) clean.

Many thanks for everyone's usual help.

We stayed in the suites a few years back. The 2 are right beside each other and share the main office. The front desk staff were the rudest people we had ever encountered. The suites were very worn out. We put blankets from our van on the couch before we would sit on it. I personally would never stay there again, maybe someone has a better review than me.

I'm with Hockey Mom on this one. Besides what was already mentioned the tv, micro and freezer didn't work. When we called to complain at front desk they said what did we expect we were not at a 5star resort. Never again!!!!!!

Sorry I can't add anything good. We looked at it the last time we were down and wouldn't even think about staying there. The room we were shown was not one of the suite rooms, but it was less than desirable looking. We were only looking for one nights accomodation since we had arrived the night before our reservations started. We ended up in the Days Inn Suites on Sand Lake Road (I believe) and it wasn't much better but at least it appeared clean - well cleaner than the other one. With all of the deals that have been offered here on the DIS lately, I think I'd look somewhere other than a Days Inn. Pete is very careful about the places that he offers here.

Thank you guys so much for your replies (and emails too!). I really appreciate the feedback. As I think I had mentioned in an earlier post, that this is for a friend of mine who has never been to Disneyworld and is taking her daughter for the first time.

I have been trying to encourage her to try the All Stars - her little girl would love the Movies icons - I just think that they would be more comfortable there. They are planning on getting 5-day park hoppers, not renting a car, and just concentrating on Disney--so, I think that staying inside just makes sense for them.

However, I have only stayed offsite once - at the old Comfort Inn Suites on the 192 back in '95 (I think it's the Sheraton Four Points now), and had a really great experience, but once I have stayed in Disney, I have yet to venture back offsite....

The trouble is, is that she has booked this hotel already--with her credit card--I told her to cancel it! Does anyone think that this would be a problem? She's not going until May, so I don't see how they wouldn't cancel her reservation for her? Fill me in if I am being naive....

Ok, so where would you recommend for this family?
Many thanks,

I agree with MLEO. Pete will only accept advertising from hotels he has personally checked out, and if they don't meet with his approval they don't get accepted. There are a number of hotels who advertise at DIS and are offering pretty good rates right now - just follow the links from the main DIS page at http://www.wdwinfo.com. I suspect you could do much worse than stay with any of the DIS advertisers.

Most hotels allow you to cancel your stay up until 6:00pm of check-in day without a penalty. Just make sure that if your friend does cancel her reservation that she gets and records a cancellation number - then if the hotel charges her card anyway she has some ammunition with which to fight back.

Mleo,

Just out of curiosity - when was it that you went there? Their website indicates that they have been renovated in 1999.

Actually, it was me posting under DH's name (MLEO) the other night. It was late, he was logged in and I was feeling lazy.
It was 2000 when we were there. I'm sure that it was that hotel though. It's right beside Old Town right?
I've never stayed at an All Stars hotel, but from what I hear they are great. If they are relying on transportaion other than their own car, they'll be far better off on-site. The transportation from some off-site places is pretty sketchy, and you have to want to come and go when they are. With Disney transportation, it runs all the time, so that you can come and go as you please. If they have park hoppers and the little girl is still young enough to need to rest during the afternoon they will probably appreciate being on-site so that the can go back to the room (or the pool) for some down time in the afternoon.
I really understand how you feel about wanting them to have a nice place to stay for this trip. With the cost of things down there and our lousy $ you want to get the best that you can for the money.
