Days away -a few questions

Yes, carrying on medicine and other must-haves is important. Remember to carry your passport both as you embark and as you disembark- don't accidentally pack it in checked luggage, as you'll need it both to get on the ship for initial boarding and to leave the ship at the end of the cruise.

I always carry on a bathing suit in case I feel like swimming, water sliding or getting in the hot tub immediately upon boarding. It also would be one of the worst items to not have in the unlikely case that some checked luggage didn't make it onboard, which is another reason I carry it on.

The app will have instructions about the Internet plan, and you can get help at Guest Services if needed.

The clothes you describe will be fine.

Have fun!
Oh yeah, I always carry my passport in my pocketbook -…

That’s a great point about bringing a bathing suit in case -!

Thank you !!!

I never swim right when I get on board because I don’t know what I’d do with my bag with wallet and passports while I’m swimming/on a slide. I guess people just have a higher risk tolerance than me.

It never really seems to take too long for the room to get ready anyway. By the time I’ve had lunch and explored a little the rooms are usually ready.

Formal night is always optional on DCL. The adult only restaurants have a dress code, but in MDRs anything except swim suits and tank tops is allowed.

I’m on the Fantasy…

Ooh, infinity pool? I LOVE those! That’s a great idea ! Just a pain to go to the bathroom, lol - but a great idea. My parents and I are going to have lunch in Cocoa Beach before dropping me off, so I won’t need to eat on the ship
This pool is only on the Wish.

As for water you can bring your own water bottle and fill it at the drink station for free and find it fine. Cases of water are really expensive to buy on board.

You mean no water in luggage? Do people do that?

At home in FL we generally drink from water bottles- I assume I can buy them on board?

Thanks!
Correct, no water (or any other beverages) in checked bags. Danger of the bottle bursting and then soaking everything (and yes, it's happened. People have also just put a luggage tag on a case of water and given it to the porters-also a no no).

You can buy water bottles on board, but you can also just bring a refillable water bottle and get water from the soda stations for free. You can also just drink the water from the tap, it's potable (I know some people don't like the taste and all, so that's subjective, but you can drink it).

Oh ☹️

They don’t sell bottled water individually? I’ve got plenty of refillable mugs that I use as water bottles, but I don’t want to have to bring a bunch of them just so I have water to drink at night…

Thanks!

Oh that’s fine - I wasn’t ever planning on doing that!

Yeah, I’m going to bring a refillable mug from home, so that’s good….I’m only really concerned about water bottles at night

Thank you - I’m so excited!

That’s a great point - it’s not like I need to swim right away; I want to immerse myself in the ship

I’ve got reservations for Palo and Remy dinner - how fancy do I have to be? I’ve got nice outfits, but especially for Remy - I don’t really have anything snazzy, fancy …

Thank you!

May the bars sell them one at a time never tried but I know they are in a can . They give you one when you do tastings.

Maybe you can buy a reusable water bottle on the ship or before you go. I always fill mine for the night too and my meds in the morning .

Not super fancy, though dressier for Remy than Palo. Here's the dress code (Palo and Remy are towards the bottom: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/dining-food-beverages/dining-dress-codes/)

You'll see a wide variety of outfits. Palo is really just one step up from cruise casual. Remy is maybe a bit dressier (though the dress code lists both as the same). You don't need anything snazzy for either, just something that presents nicely.

I guess I’ll see - but yeah, worst comes to worst, I’ll fill my mugs with water for the night…I’m sure I’ll be fine

Thank you!

Thank you! I’m good - I definitely have nice outfits. One less thing to worry about

I guess it depends on how much water you want at night or how picky your pallate is. We just drink water from the tap (there are glasses in the room) and that's more than fine for us. Or you can fill up a bottle each day to bring back as you suggested.

Room service is also included, anytime we order anything, we ask for glasses of ice water. So you can also get glasses of water from room service.

I just love knowing it’s there - I do drink a lot of water….I’m so used to not drinking two anymore since I’ve been in FL, though I suppose water in restaurants is tap

Thanks - and thanks for the reminder of room service; I hadn’t thought of that at all!

Water from the tap in your room comes from the same source as the station on the pool deck, the stations in the buffet and in the restaurants. Same for ice. It's all perfectly potable and drinkable. As others have said, it's only if you don't like the taste (I personally find it completely neutral in taste) or you prefer the taste of bottled water that you really need to buy or bring it. We bring water bottles also so that we can fill up if we are getting off in port so that we can be sure of the water quality and that we don't have to buy any. It also allows you to add lots of ice to it. I hate drinking warm water.

And me, too - I hate warm water…I’ll drink it only if I have to

Seriously, how much water are you drinking from bedtime to morning? 🤔 I am asleep most of the nighttime I am in the cabin.

You can buy a six pack of water onboard and then reuse the bottles for the following nights. Stick them in the drinks cooler in your cabin. Bring some sort of bag to transport the refills to your cabin.

Or I would think one 32 oz container would cover the night. You can pack clean stuff in it for transport in the plane.

Tomorrow’s the day? Happy cruising! 🚢🎉🥳
