OK, we'll try some more. We didn't go to any sit down or buffet breakfasts this trip, but had breakfast burritos from the BW Bakery twice, we thought these were big enough for two. Also one morning we got a bagel and pastrami salmon from Starring Rolls in MGM - very different and very good.
We had 2 MK days this trip, and mostly snacked around. Had hot dogs from Casey's (a tradition) and for the first time, ice cream at the main street ice cream parlor. Hot carmel and hot fudge sundaes in a waffle cup - delish. We never miss the egg roll cart in Adventureland, another tradition, so we hit that on both MK visits. Had lunch one day in El Pirata y El Perico, for the first time. DW had taco salad and I had the empenada. I liked mine, DW didn't rave, but said it was OK. Another night we stopped into Columbia Harbor House for some chowda, no bread bowls this time, but still very good. Stopped into the Pinnochio Village Haus, but I think we only had coffee and got off our feets for a while.
We met my wife's crazy cousins from Brooklyn the first day in the MK. They were down for the Capital One Bowl. We took a break to go over to the Poly for a while and hit the Tambu lounge. Strawberry Daqs for the gals and a coupla lapu lapus for me - outstanding.
Next day we kind of layed around the resort to rest our tired feet. Went over to Beaches and Cream for a long overdue visit. We had never been there, but have heard so many good things about it. It did not disappoint.
DW had a chocolate shake and roast beef hero, I had an iced tea and a cheeseburger and onion rings. We really enjoyed this, DW's milkshake was outstanding, plus our server left the shaker which had another whole glass in it. The food was also really, really good. If you like your meat rarer, or even medium rare you should tell your server, but it was OK for us.
That evening we went to CG for dinner. We were taken to a room in the South wing kinda place, very quiet, which we liked. What a great meal we had. Our server (Brian) helped us with a couple of wine selections that we enjoyed very much. DW had a shrimp cocktail or shrimp salad kind of appetizer that she liked, I had the goat cheese and something else ravioli - very tasty. For the main course DW had the Zinfandel glazed filet, which she raved about, I tried it, it was beyond tender. I ordered the pork shank, which was like an osso bucco type of cut, except pork not veal. I thought this was excellent, but next time I may have to opt for the filet. Dessert was chocolate lava cake. Way too good -fuhgettaboudit.
So far enjoying all - clothes fitting tighter.
More later.
