We did the Queen Mary in April. We had a nice time.You have to have one of the delicious shakes on board. We didn't do the ghost tour because my dd was afraid, but we did the other tours and they were quite entertaining and informative.

I second the vote for Seal Beach.

It's less urban than the other beaches, less crowded. Yet plenty of good restaurants and cute shops. Quaint little main street leading to a pier. My DH and I have spent weeks in this quiet town, and would love to live there. It's about a 1/2 hour drive from Disneyland.
