Day Three - Universal Studios

Today we are off to Universal, after booking the shuttle bus at reception we have a stroll to the bargain shop and purchase a couple of bum bags, no matter how much I hate these and usually tend to carry it as a shoulder bag it is handy to have with all the different pockets.

We get the shuttle coach at 10:30 and it picks up at the Quality Inn before heading off to Universal Studios.

I manage to put my flexi ticket in too quickly and am suitably chastised by the lady on the gate. We make our way past Shrek 4D to find the characters Shrek and Donkey.

Whoever does the donkey is pretty good in my opinion and he is good entertainment. After 10 mins off listening to donkey people start piling out of the theatre so as it is now getting crowded we head off. First stop is the Terminator, I was quite impressed with this last time although I didn’t think I would like it and I enjoyed it more this time. We then make our way to Jaws as DH is hoping to get the seat on the left of the boat but alas we end up being the last on the row again. From here we head off to MIB, last time we were here we played this and I beat DH so he wanted revenge. This time around we seemed to spin a lot more so I had to keep closing my eyes which meant I was well and truly beaten; of course as far as DH was concerned I let him win. We got some express passes for ET and then walked over to ride Earthquake as we missed this last time, the queue wasn’t too bad so we decided to give it a go. This was an okay ride but nothing like I thought it would be. We walked back to ET but it was down so we decided to get some lunch. I wanted a sandwich but the place we had bought one before seemed to be closed so we went and had a burger and fries in quite a nice place but I can’t remember the name.

After lunch we walked back to ET and had to queue for ages before getting in even though we had an express pass but it was worth the wait as I really love this ride. After ET time was getting on so after watching the characters arrive for Madagascar we head back to the shuttle bus where I breathe a sigh of relieve as we didn't do the Revenge of the Mummy.

After a shower and rest for a couple of hours we head off for the Mercado later on in the evening for a drink although the shops here are getting scarce, after a couple of hours we tired we go back to the hotel and bed.

Lovely report Cazzie, we love Universal the best. You can buy nice sandwiches in the Cheesefactory Shop just near the entrance to the park (for future reference).

On the MIB ride the other cars can make you spin more by shooting your exhaust pipe. This is probably why it span round a lot more this time. My kids took great delight in making me spin around when we went on the single riders line.

Great trippie. I love universal, but gutted that jaws is in rehab when we go in a few weeks. Boo Hoo.

Enjoyed your report Cazzie. We rode Earthquake for the first time this year and I really enjoyed it. The first 2 parts are pretty tame but the last bit more than mades up for it.
