Who's there?: Ron (DH-38), Eryn (DD - 18), and me (37).
Park(s): Animal Kingdom & MurderWatch Theater
Date: December 29
We were up early to hit Animal Kingdom. It was starting to get cold by this time in the week. Wish we had packed better - I've never seen so many new coats! Lot's of men wearing Tigger..
Immediately, we took off for the Safaris, and had about a ten minute wait. I wanted to stop to look for the secret path, but my husband and daughter scoffed at me. I was allowed to do one of the walking tour paths. The animals were really out! Then we took off for Dinosaur. I wish it had been nicer - I love the Kali Rapids ride.
After Dinosaur, we got Fastpasses for It's Tough to be a Bug. I don't kow why, but this is one of my favorite attractions in all of the World. I always laugh so hard! By now, we are starving, so we head to Rainforest Cafe for P.S.
I know there are mixed feelings on the board about Rainforest Cafe, but I loved our breakfast! My daughter had the Tonga Toast, which I have been craving for three years since having it at the Poly. It is different than the Poly's, but I think better because it is baked, not fried. It is sooooo sweet, I was glad I let her order it, and I got the breakfast pizza. It was DELICIOUS! She and I shared the two entrees, which gave us both some sweet and some substance. We still didn't get close to finishing either! Ron had steak and eggs - just a basic kind of guy!
We headed back for It's Tough to be a Bug!, and I wasn't disappointed. It is so well done! Then, off to my daughter's favorite AK attraction: Tarzan. She loves all those young, muscular guys! And, here we weren't disappointed either - they were amazing!!
We headed back to our hotel for a nap. We thought we would try to find the new outlet mall, for the new Disney Outlet, but we just got sooo lost!
After a refreshing nap, we headed to MurderWatch Theater at the Grosvnor. I teach drama, and was relieved to see that there IS a place for my less talented students that don't make the big time! No, it wasn't that bad - the acting was purposefully corny. The script, however, left a lot to be desired. (Thus, the title of this installment!) It had no twists, and the four 'suspects' all equally had no motive! They did do a great job of audience participation. Ron loved dinner, however. It was a meat-lovers paradise. He ate, and ate, and ate.
When we got done, we decided to go over to Pleasure Island for a little while and do the Comedy Warehouse. Ron and I have premium annual passes, while we bought Eryn the regular annual pass (Ron & I went last spring, and bought ours; we aren't planning to go again, but we wanted Eryn to be covered on New Year's Eve, if necessary, by getting her an annual pass). Well, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that Friday night is "guest night" for premium pass holders. Eryn got to come in free with Ron and I. Well we sat through three shows of the comedy warehouse. There was a varying degree of humor, but the shows do get more risque later. The second show was side-splitting. There was an inebriated woman that they got on the phone, and she was hysterical, telling us about her trailer, her fiance JimBo, and some cow poop (she used the un-Disney form of that word several times, being reminded by the cast each time of the proper word) that they thought was chicken poop... I guess you had to be there, but if you were, you would be smiling like me!!!
We had a great night, and we get to sleep in tomorrow. We plan to visit the various resorts, the outlet mall and Cirque de Soleil!!
Thanks for reading....
