Day room at WDW for Magic port day?

I'm thinking of getting a day room for the family (six people total) at either an EPCOT or Magic Kingdom resort for our WDW port day. We'd like to be first bus out and last bus back and thought we could take a few hours to recharge there. :D Has anyone else done this?

WDW resorts do not offer day rooms. You could potentially get a room for the night but check-in isn't until 4 PM so there would be no guarantee you could get in to your room before then.

Thank you. I understand that.

Possibly look into a cabana rental at the pool? I'm not sure if you can rent one without having a resort reservation itself, but if it is, that might be an idea

I believe you'd actually have to book 2 nights (the night before and the night of your WDW visit). I'll also point out taking a mid-day break can eat up at least 3-4 hours of a pretty short day at WDW.

We didn't do it last time we sailed that itinerary. We were on the first bus out and last bus in, but we had strategically planned meals in quiet locations to take time to rest. We also made sure to do some of the longer shows to take advantage of a cool dark space to rest. It's definitely doable without a room, just take advantage of those moments to rest. (also, the bus is a fabulous place to nap on the way back to the boat)

What about the Swan or Dolphin? Do they do day rooms? Also, if something like Stormalong Bay is part of your 'excursion', and you don't want to do everything at every park, it might be worth it. Even if your room isn't ready, I think you can use the pools, if you're checking in.

Another option might be Typhoon Lagoon, but that is pretty active, not restorative.

How about an Uber/taxi to a non-Disney hotel in Disney Springs area? They might have day rooms available.

If I had the money I would definitely do it. The hotels themselves can be a wonderful experience. Plus it would be a super long day and we definitely need a break in there. I would have to be pretty wealthy to feel comfortable doing that, but hey if I had an insane amount of money, why not make it an even more amazing vacation.

I had definitely considered this in October for just the reasons the OP mentioned. We had a 2.5 year old with us and I wanted a place for her to nap comfortably so we could stay longer at the parks. In the end the cost detracted from my doing it but I think its a great idea (my hubby didn't like the idea much but I did!)

We wound up winging it. We did EPCOT first thing, then took the monorail to T&TC and was going to MK but decided to have lunch at the Poly instead. We walked to the Poly from T&TC and luckily our granddaughter fell asleep on the way. We ate there while she slept in the stroller and then took monorail over to MK to finish off the day. We were all beat so we took the 6:00 pm bus back to ship. We had a good day and it all worked out.

What about planning to relax in the Poly or Wilsermess Lodge lobby? They are both beautiful and can be quite peaceful.
We often see people doing that in the Grand Californian in Anaheim and the environments/proximity are very similar. Have a great cruise!

Did it in November. Stayed at the wilderness lodge. Lucked out and checked in and got room at 1230 but I said I would take anything available. Then you have the pool there. Totally worth it. We napped and felt very refreshed plus it’s great to have a home base. If it helps we are cabana people At castaway cay so we really really like having a home base. We had lunch at the quick serve at the resort and then got on the boat!

Good luck.

You could have a plan that includes Hall of Presidents or American Adventure. Many people use those shows for napping!

Seriously, proximity to the parks is nice, but the resorts likely to have rooms available early would be the values and mods as they have so many more rooms. Two years ago I was texted that my room at POP was available at 9:30 am.

We were on the first bus to WDW and the last bus back to PC. If we ever do that itinerary again, I definitely won't do that, we were so exhausted the next 2 days all we wanted to do was sleep on the ship. I'd definitely take it easy that day if you can, just my opinion.
