day rates at the Atlantis....important!!

just back from the Wonder 4/4-4/8....

if your planning to book the Atlantis for the day....MAKE SURE they give you a day rate....when you book prior to your trip by phone, I was told they do not give day rates... I had to book 2 rooms for the day because we are a family of 6....total price almost 900.00....I got alot of flack for doing this on these boards,
but I was never there and really wanted my family to enjoy the entire resort..Other familys traveling with us did the same. Fortunatly, one of my rooms was available as soon as we arrived, so we just dumped everything we bought at the straw market there, other rooms were not available until 3. Everyone was given their wrist bands and off we went....We did'nt care if we really even saw the rooms. Upon checkout, we kinna complained how expensive this was, told them we were cruisers just booking for the day and we all given a $200 credit for our rooms, mine was $400 since I booked two rooms...MADE MY DAY EVEN BETTER!! So all in all, it WAS worth it! It would have cost me $360 to book this excursion through disney and we would not have been able to use the pools/slides. This way it cost me only $110 more to have entire use of this resort for the day. Beautiful place, beach was incredible...planning to go back in December! This resort is sooo big, that one day is not enough there..

Glad to hear you loved the Atlantis! We did the tour there that permitted us to see the resort and Dig Site but not the pools and beach. I couldn't help feeling like I was intruding on the paying guests at the resort. There were many many tour groups going through at the same time and we were definately "clogging" up the walkways and public spaces. If I were a guest at the resort paying that much money to enjoy my resort stay, I would have been upset to have to "fight the crowds" just to get to the pool area. Did you find the tour groups to be "invading your space"?

The Atlantis is truly a lovely place. I was sorry to not have gotten the pass allowing us to use the pool and beach area. Maybe next trip!! Did you know that you could book a day room at the Comfort Suites next door to the Atlantis and still use the resorts pool/beach areas?

comfort inn was booked 2 months before we left...so i suggest to all, if you really want day rooms either at the atlantis or the comfort inn, to book right away!
