Not sure if anyone here is going to know the answer... but I thought I 'd give it a shot.

B/c I have an SPG Platinum card, we have stayed at the Swan for our last two trips to WDW (Honeymoon and 1 year anniversary). We LOVED it.. but decided to buy into DVC at the Boardwalk. While we are super-excited about that....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the pool at the Swan/Dolphin and was wondering if you could purchase a "day pass" to the resort to be able to use the pool. The DVC purchase was actually a tough decision b/c of the Grotto pool and the chocolate croissants in the CL! :-) :-) BUT... we figured a kitchen and washer/dryer would be better w/ babies than the chocolate croissants!!!

Anyway... anyone ever do this before or have any more information for me?? Thanks!

Never have done it...and because it is not an official disney resort...pool hopping isn't an option....but good luck..

Boardwalk has nice pools also..I think you will be fine. Pool hopping isn't allowed.

I think you will like the DVC pools. Many of us DVC members like to conserve points. Since the weekend points are so much higher, many of us stay elsewhere Fri and Sat nights. Maybe you can get your Grotto pool fix on the weekends, stay at the swan or dolphin and save points!

Thanks - I knew pool-hopping wasn't an option - but I know some resorts (none that I can think of in Orlando) offer a certain price for "day guests" to use the facilities!

If I were you , I would check out the DVC forum here on this site. I do believe that pool hopping is ALLOWED for DVC members. Of coarse, you could not hop to the grotto pool at the Swan/Dolphin, because they are not disney owned! ::MinnieMo

I think what the other posters were saying was while pool hopping is allowed for DVC members, it is not allowed at S/D pools. And pool hopping is limited by DVC rules, too. No YC/BC pools, no AKL pool, black out days during busy times, etc.

I have done this at other resorts but not the S/D you might call and ask? I would be interested to know myself . :cool1: :cool1:

I would call the Swan/Dolphin directly (they have a toll free number on their website). They are always very nice when you call. When we have stayed at the Swan and Dolphin, they have never checked room keys at the pool unless you were getting towels.

FYI: The bakery in the France section of World Showcase has wonderful chocolate croissants. Try the Marvellous also if you like chocolate.

since you're Platinum SPG, I doubt they will have a problem with it. Call and ask. :flower:

I know from my stay at the Swan that when you go to the pool they don't ask to see your room key but they do ask to see it when you go to the towel booth.
The Boardwalk pool is very nice though and you'll have fun.
