day for all outside the park

....during Christmas week. Knowing full well the parks are jammed packed for Christmas, I was hoping someone could advise a few other activities I can do with my family for the day. My parents and grandmother will be meeting us (DH, DD-6) sometime that week. I really don't want to go into the parks, as they don't really do well at walking all day, and I know the crowds will not make them happy. Swimming is not much of an option as they are not really swimmers So.... I was thinking something like mini golf and dinner.... Does downtown have entertainment going on during the day? Help!

Mini golf and dinner sound like good ideas. DTD does have a lot to do ecspecially during Christmas. Be prepared for DTD to be unusually busy also. For days that we don't go to the parks we spend them at the character outlet stores, the tourist trap stores, visiting the other monorail resorts to see the Christmas decor and Chocolate sculptures, Gatorland and I've heard that Ripley's "museum" I don't know what else to call it, is really cool also.

Thank you. They normally do the other items you listed on their own (outlets/etc.), so I wanted to keep them more Disney involved.

In Dec. last year, we took one day and visited the resorts on the monorail and looked at the Christmas decorations, got coffee at Kona's, drinks at GF, etc. Just really took our time to look at all the decorations, explore each resort and take lots of pictures. Some of my favorite picures from our whole trip were that day.
