day by day ressie method

Okay we will be trying to book a GV and a 2bd villa at BWV starting on May 6 2007. Since it might be hard to get these I am considering booking day by day as the 7 month windows come up. Any tricks or suggestion that I should know about?

I've done this the past couple of trips and it can be a pain, but worth it. All you can do is have a back up plan in case it's not available. I'm mid-way through on my day by day, 12 day trip for May 07 and it can be a pain planning like this. I like to write down the name of the CM, just to see if I get the same one twice, plus a comment about each one. Remember to tell the CM that you are doing a day by day, so they will hold the confirmation until you are done. Then they will mail it to you if you're successful. My first day starting my ressie, the CM kept having computer problems and it took one hour to get my reservation entered as she kept losing the information. I still have four more days to call and you do get a little anxious each time. I keep expecting the CM to say, sorry, not available, you need to wait list. After my call I then log into the DVC site and double check that the ressie is there. Isn't today your first day to call for the night of May 6th? Good Luck.

You might also consider finding a BWV owner to make the reservation for you or have BWV points transferred into your account to make it yourself. With only 7 GVs at BWV, availability is certainly limited and it could be disappointing if you are unable to get all the days you want within 7 months.

On the first day, I would ask what availability for the week looks like. If some of the dates are already sold out, you may want to wait and waitlist for the entire week.

thanks for all the info, I did make my 1st day ressies yesterday, and the CM stated that "it looked good for the rest of the week". I'm guessing that since I got the rooms for the Sunday I should (I hope) be good all the way to Thurs. We shall see!!

That's good news! Keep us posted how you do. Unfortunately for me, I ended up waitlisted for my day I called for yesterday (exact 7 month window). I was a little bummed, but will keep working on putting my trip together, then call for a back up plan on my 7 month check out date. I was doing a day by day for a standard room, so expected that I might hit a speed bump along the way. Last year I was lucky to get 2 studios and that was calling at the end, not day by day. I guess I was a little bummed because the CM also told me on Friday that availability looked good and I should be OK. Still have 4 more days to add.

So how would the transfer go? I own at VWL but want to book an OKW GV next August. Could I just find an OKW owner willing to trade and deposit my x # of VWL points into their account and they in turn deposit their X # of OKW points into my account? (I just never heard of this). Thanks!!
