Day Before Hotel / Transportation Question

Need advice on where to stay the day before the cruise at airport or near the port and what type of transportation is best. We are mom and grandmom with 4 children from 2 yr - 11 yrs. Never have done this before. Help please.

We always stay at the Hyatt inside the airport. Especially with little ones, we can't beat the convenience and eating/entertainment options! The Hyatt is more expensive than going on priceline and getting one of the hotels that offers a free shuttle, but it's worth it to us!

With the number of people in your party I would recommend a towncar. If you go on the Transportation board you'll find many reviews. Happy Limo, Tiffany, Cartier, Fl Towncars are just some off the top of my head.

What I did was find a cheap room near the airport (we were flying in very late the night before) and we rented a car. There were only three of us and we got a good deal from Budget $40.00 one way rental/full size (both ways were upgraded to premium).

All the airport hotels offer shuttles so you could take a shuttle to your hotel and then shuttle back to the airport to pick up Disney Transportation if you did not want to rent a car. If you want to rent a car, depending on when you are cruising just keep an eye on "Mousesavers" for specials on mini vans. It takes some work but you can often get to the port cheaper by renting a car than DCL, especially with that many people.

Also, dcltribute.com has a list of what rental agencies are closest to the port. As I said we used Budget and getting to and from was a breeze.

oops, forgot to say, I used Bidding for travel and got an excellent rate at the Marriott..I think $48.00

Thanks for the tips. The easiest sounds like staying at the Hyatt and taking the DCL bus both ways. I'm all for easy.
