Hi All, We are going on a 4 day w/a stop at Nassau and was wondering if anyone knew of local beaches/hotels on beaches near port where we can spend the day. We have been to Atlantis already and want to do something a little more relaxing and less expensive. There are six of us ranging from 19-63, we all love the beach but, some of us need the shade. Thought of staying on the ship but, it's my sister inlaw's first time and I'd like to get her on the island :)
Thanks ahead for any info!

We are going on 4 night too.
We are planning to do the Blue Lagoon Beach Day. This is our first cruise so I have no personal reviews yet.

I've gone to the Sheraton ( now the Melia Nassau resort) when traveling with my two kids. Day passes for about $25 each with access to resort pool. Casino and beach. About 10 minute ride by taxi from port

We did Blue Lagoon two years ago. We went for the sea lions, but loved the beach. The boat ride over is relaxing and they have multiple boats returning throughout the day, so you can choose how much time to spend there. We had a whole section to ourselves in January. The water was clear and calm. There are tons of trees with hammocks and chairs to escape the heat. The water blow ups looked cute, but we just enjoyed laying on the beach, swimming, and looking for tiny seashells. There was some food and drinks, but I don't think we enjoyed any. You can also see an area where the Dolphins chill with the beach pass.

We left on the last boat, with time to wonder around Nassau for a few minutes.

We just did the Ardastra Garden excursion? It's not terribly expensive, it was fun! Not earth shattering, but I hadn't been in an excursion that let you see more of the island ( shirt bus ride to the gardens with a couple of stops on the way back to get out and peek at a couple sites and we had an awesome driver). The garden/zoo was small but pretty and sounds ridiculous but we loved feeding apples to the Lorrie birds. Smaller animals in the zoo and many were rescues (I'm not a zoo person) and that was nice and funny watching the flamingos. It's also not an all day thing, so you can be back on the ship. Anyways, it was different and not expensive. Might be a change of pace? The hubby and DS have done the Junkanoo and Forts excursion before and they really liked that.

We have always been tempted to do the colonial Hilton but it does not get great reviews.
Beaches at melia are beautiful. Hotel okay.

I haven't done this from the ship, but I stayed on Paradise Island and there is a free beach next to Atlantis called Cabbage Beach. You can take a cab over there from the dock for around $20ish. Once you get there, there's people who will set out chairs and umbrellas for a fee and there's a few restaurants/bars nearby. I think we paid $20 for 4 chairs and unlimited "punch" one day, and then got just the chairs for maybe $15 after that. When we were there, the waves were a little strong (its not protected like Atlantis) but it was a beautiful beach. We spent three days sitting there and really enjoyed it.

We've done the Greycliff Hotel Chocolate Factory Tour twice now and highly recommend it for all ages.

After a tour of the factory, you make your own chocolate creations (delicious chocolate by the way) which they will pack up to take with you. No problem at all getting back on the ship with them. Our tour guide (same lady both times) was a hoot and had us
laughing the whole time. Lots of fun.

There is a great catamaran/snorkeling excursion. I know it's not the beach, but I really enjoyed it.
