Sunday 14th July
Cast:
Me- Morven (aka Undylad)
Suzanne DW
Kerri DD (7)
Liam DS (5) - the chicken strip eater.
Suzanne and myself were up first and were ready to go at 7:30am. It took up over thirty minutes to motivate the children. We had breakfast in the room, nice and civilised. Upon a childrens decision we headed for the Magic Kingdom and arrived at about 9:30am. Straight to Indy Speedway, found a thirty minute wait queue. Note to self Get here earlier! Next I went to FP Splash Mountain, while Suzanne and the children did the IASW. When I got back to IASW to find that they had done the Mad Tea Party first. So we all went and did IASW again.
Splash Mountain was next and was new ride to us all; it was being built the last time that Suzanne and myself were at WDW. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Suzanne thought it was better that than she was expecting. We then grabbed a FP for Big Thunder Mountain. We hopped across to Tom Sawyer Island; we let the kids have a run about in the Fort, while we cooled our heels. We had lunch at Aunt Polls Dockside Inn. I had what must be the most expensive ham and cheese sandwich I have ever had. The rest of the troops had Apple Pie. Our time was up for our Big Thunder Mountain FP, so we jumped onto the raft and headed across. Kerri was adamant that she did not want to do Thunder Mountain. Liam rode it twice with Suzanne then myself. We headed round to Pirates of the Caribbean and spotted Caption Hook, so Kerri grabbed her autograph book and off she went, leaving the photographer (me) to chase after her.
Onto Pirates, We thought it was a lot shorter that the ride at DLP, was it just us?? We started to wander round for the parade. Spotted Genie and another photo and autograph session later we continued our slow walk round to the parade route. We stumbled across the Aloha Isle and Suzanne remembered the Dole Whips that people on the boards had us we must have. This must be probably the most refreshing drink in the world. If I am drinking it, it also the messiest. We watched the parade and the top of Main Street and all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was already 3:00pm and it was the longest we had managed to survive this holiday to date. We beat a retreat to the hotel.
We chilled out in the room and let things cool down a little then we invaded the pool. Another late dinner at the FC, Pizza for the non-chicken strip eaters. Light out for 11:00pm.
A great day, we seem to getting the hang of this now
