There was an ugly rumor going around that the Sholtis and Reichert Families were the last ones off the Magic and had to be taken away by authorities when they handcuffed themselves to the railing and started to chant, "Heck no! I won't go!"
Yes, the Magic was late leaving Port that evening but it had nothing to do with the claw marks left by their fingernails in the decks as they were dragged away.
Last breakfast - felt like the last supper of a condemned man. Too many last hugs and tears....probably my worst time of all is having to say goodbye and leave......
Okay, advise, IF you have last seating....and you get off the ship as the last ones (9AM), you MAY have as long a wait to get your luggage checked in at Delta as we did.... We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes outside in line waiting as Delta checked in passengers and they boarded the buses to the Airport.
45 minutes to the Airport.....we got in nearly noon and decided that since our plane was due to leave in 2 hours, it wouldn't be smart for us to keep the Day Room at the Hyatt. No problem - she cancelled it for us at no charge! Very nice!
Now the wait............due to the storms that hit the Orlando area, we were delayed a very long time....don't even ask me how long because I ended up with "numb butt" and the highlight was having to walk OVER bodies to get to the bathroom.
Finally, after several hours, the planes were back in the air and we were flying back to Indy.........due to the delay and late hour we decided that it would be best to grab a bite to eat at the airport and then just spend the night at the hotel.
Nothing felt as good as the hot tub did that night at the hotel as we relaxed and talked about the previous week's activities.
Drove home the next day.....had phone calls, visitors and started to attack the mountain of laundry that somehow multiplied during the vacation. I mean, just how much did we bring, wear and what is that awful smell?!
I have exactly 75 days left til Mom, Michael and I cruise again - I hope I can recooperate by then and at least get my ironing done!
Picked up our cat (Mr. Bumpy) and dog (Kira) at the vet today (Monday) and saw a little multicolored stray kitten there....okay, so now we have a new fur baby - no name yet.....but you know me, I just have to collect my strays!
All I can say is that it was a wonderful cruise, Michael did predict great weather and we had it, and Fidelio rocks!
