Day 7 : Belz and Fantasia Gardens
Had a long lie this morning as Mears werent picking us up until 9.30am. Had breakfast, got ready, debated how many travellers cheques I should take with me. Decided on amount and took VISA card as well. Left the room at 9.20am and we were on the bus for 9.25am. Everyone else was on time too, driver very surprised, but said she had paperwork to finish and we would leave soon. There were 10 of us on the bus including myself and Tricia and all were from the UK. Driver started engine and pulled away from the bus stop when Tricia said to me, Did you lock the safe?. I told her no I didnt because she did. Seems she didnt either. The safe has been left wide open, tickets, passports, travellers cheques, etc in it.STOP THE BUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The driver did stop the bus, just as we were about to turn out of the hotel. Everyone on the bus agreed to going back so we could go and lock the safe. If you were on that bus that day, thank you so much.
After that excitement we left and arrived at Belz at 10.10am. Love it here, fabulous shopping at fabulous prices. I bought 2 pairs of Calvin Klein jeans, 2 sports tops from reebok, tracky bottoms from Nike, a pair of Sketchers, ¾ length trousers and a top from Gap, Tommy Hilfigger sweater and waterproof jacket. Also got Timberland boots for my friends children, they cost $19 per pair compared to £40 to buy them in Scotland. I also managed to get a Scottish newspaper so I finally knew that Adele had been evicted from the Big Brother house the night we left. Tricia bought tops, CDs etc.. but not as much as she usually gets. About 20 minutes before we were due to leave Belz my ankle became really painful, shooting pains when I stepped on it. Either it was a sign from the bank manager trying to slow down my spending or it was coming out in sympathy with Tricia ever expanding foot (which she still claims is fine. I am sure the bite is infected). Dont know what caused my ankle pain but it disappeared as suddenly as it came about two hours later. Taxi picked us up approx 2pm and it rained on the way back to the hotel, it only lasted 10-15 minutes.
Dumped shopping in the room, had lunch and then got the bus to MGM. When we got off the bus we walked over to the Swan and Dolphin and then onto Fantasia Gardens, think it took about 20minutes. Decided to play both courses and we started with the Fairways because the other course was so busy. This course may look easy but it was hard! Too many sand traps. I won but I also had to go into the lake at the side of the course to get my ball back. I did contemplate going back and getting another but it was so far and I could see the ball. So in I went and retrieved it.
Had a drink and then played the other course. This course was so so busy and took us over an hour to get round. It was great fun though and the man behind me will never forget it. At one point I had to hit the ball up a hill and round a bend. Sounds easy, was for some people. On my first three attempts I didnt even hit the ball. On my fourth attempt I struck the ball, it flew up the hill, hit the barrier at the top, shot through the air, hit a lamp post and headed straight for the face of the man behind me. He caught it well!!!! Gave everyone round about us a good laugh. I won this course as well. I think luck played a part in my winning because I never had any skill. Walked back to MGM and got bus back to resort. Back by 9.40pm and got chicken strips and fries for dinner which we took back to the room to eat. I was enjoying them until I bit into a fry that tasted like vomit. I spat it out and rinsed my mouth with sprite when I discovered that we never had any water left. Went down to food court and bought water and filled our mugs and then had an early night.
Tomorrow : Universal Studios(where I get the biggest fright of my life) and a DIS meet.
