I have to say I dont remember much about today .
We slept in until about 9 a.m. and ate breakfast in the room. We decided to go to MGM since we hadnt been there since Sunday and we love this park! MGM was crowded today, lots and lots of people. We went on Aerosmith one last time and waited in line for the Great Movie Ride about 20 to 25 minutes. We asked for Jeremy Wilcox but he had the day off. BummerL Maybe next time Jeremy! We had never really explored New York Street before and now I know why. There is nothing really over there? Does anyone else think this is a bit of wasted space? We thought about doing Tower of Terror but there was a long wait and the Fastpasses were for much later in the day. Oh well bye-bye TOT!
We decided to grab lunch and we tried the Sci-Fi Diner. Now the atmosphere and the cars are a lot of fun but the food sorta stinks. I had the turkey sandwich and DH had a burger and we were not impressed by either of them. My chocolate shake was really really yummy though.
We left Sci-Fi and decided we were done with the crowds and to get out of MGM. We decided to catch a bus to Port Orleans since I wanted to check it out and see what that resort looked like. I really like the feel of the mansions at Port Orleans. I talked about staying here maybe for our next trip but it looks like we will have to go for a Value Resort. We hopped on the boat and headed to Downtown Disney to finish up our shopping after all this is our last full day! The boat ride to Downtown Disney was perfect and relaxing. Our driver was a hoot as well. He gave us a great guided tour and showed us how Disney grows there hotels. Hehehe. He pointed out some bird houses and said they were just saplings and would eventually grow up to be a 700 room hotel. We floated by the French Quarter and it is looking really good!
At DTD we hit Ghiradellis so I could pick up a box of chocolates for my assistant who was working her butt off for me back home. She deserved them and LOVED them when I gave them to her. We also bought some pins for people and finished up on souvenirs. We got back to the room about 4pm and we had 6:20 PS for the CA Grill. We took 30-minute naps and then hit the showers. We decided to get a little more dressed up for the evening, which was fun. We got to the Contemporary about 6:10p.m. And checked in. We were given a great table with a great view! We are told Happy Anniversary! Again. Now on our honeymoon we ate the first night at CA Grill and we had a great waitress that was awesome at explaining everything to us. This time .I sorta of felt like our waiter was a little annoyed at us for asking so many questions. We dont know what lots of things are and we certainly dont know anything about wines or champagne. But I wasnt going to let that felling ruin my evening. Anyway we decided to get two starters and 2 main dishes. I ordered the 4-cheese flatbread with sun-dried tomatoes and DH got the CA rolls. We love CA rolls and they dont get any better then at CA Grill. We both split the starters and were already blissfully happy in our food choices. For the main course I had the Fresh Halibut that was really really good but not nearly as good as DHs filet. It just melted in your mouth. I was jealous over the steak, I should have ordered that too and he was stingy in sharing humph. For desert we had apple tarts with a lemony sorbet. Now it is about 7:30 and the fireworks dont start till 8pm. I order a coffee with bailys and DH gets tea but by 7:50 we are done with it. DH doesnt like to sit at a table when we are not eating so he convinces me to leave the nice warm table and go outside to the observation deck to watch the fireworks. It was again great (although cold) and I was glad they piped the music in. And while it is great to watch the fireworks from here without the crowds it doesnt have the same magic as Main Street. Watch the fireworks from Main Street go to CA grill for the food and sunset, right Carol? J
We took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian because I have been wanting to purchase a robe from their gift shops. These are the same robes that the put in the room and I have to say it is the best souvenier yet! I did our master bathroom in a spa theme so I wanted it to go with my room Of course DH points out it is never in the bathroom because Im always wearing it. We switch monorails at the TTC and grab one to EPCOT in the tram we meet the nices couple from upstate New York who just go engaged on the trip. They were having such a blast and we talked and compared accents. I love meeting people at Disney!
We got back to the room about 9pm and started packing.
