Up bright and early again and standing outside Blizzard Beach by 8.45am. Including us there were only 4 people on the bus and the other 2 were going to Animal Kingdom. The line to get into Blizzard Beach was quite long but it moved quickly and we had found loungers in the shade at the side of the wave pool by 9.10am. Bought bar code for re-fillable mug, downed a couple of Sprites and we were on our way. Started in the lazy river which was empty then went to the family raft ride. This is a great slide, way better than Typhoon Lagoons. After this I went to do some slides. I climbed all the stairs carrying my tube and when I got to the top I joined the line for the enclosed slide which is my personal favourite. Whilst standing in the line I noticed that the slide to the left appeared to be closed, I thought this strange as there were 3 CMs there. At this point one of the CMs picked up the phone, dialled whatever number and asked could they let them know when the snake had been removed so they could re-open the slide. Apparently there was a snake hanging over the slide on the left hand side so they couldnt let anyone go down incase it fell on them. Now if a snake landed on me when I was going down a slide they would have to scrape me off the ground at Animal Kingdom (thats probably were I would land) I was horrified, Im terrified of snakes. I did consider doing a runner but then I thought Im in the line for the enclosed slide so I should be okay and then I thought about all the stairs I had just climbed so I opted to stay in the line and do the slide. I have to admit I did leave that area as soon as I got to the bottom. Got some doughnuts and more Sprite then had a bob around in the wave pool. The waves arent like Typhoon Lagoons so I couldnt body surf but Tricia came in up to her knees!!! Had some lunch and some more Sprite (I always get my moneys worth from a bar code) and then went back to the lazy river. Left Blizzard Beach around 12.30pm and had to run for the bus, thankfully the driver saw us coming and waited. Back at Caribbean Beach within 5 minutes and chilled out on my Jamaica beach where I had some more Sprite in my CBR re-fillable mug. Spent about 2 hours here reading my Harry Potter book, it was getting really exciting, wasnt Professor Umbridge a pure nasty person, brilliant character, wanted to reach into the words and punch her face. Anyway, I digress.
Left resort about 4pm and went to Epcot. Went into the Land and got some baked potatoes for dinner. While I was getting napkins and cutlery Tricia found us a table. The table was totally unacceptable and I refused to sit at it. I mean if someone told you they were desperate for the bathroom would you pick a table for them beside a fountain? This is where I was expected to sit!!! I found us another table and then ran. The food was nice and then we went to Food Rocks. Love this show, obviously seen it too many times because I closed my eyes and sang along. When we came out I bought 2 beannies, Tigger dressed as a grasshopper and Pooh dressed as a butterfly. They are so cute. Went into Mouse Gears next and I saw a cool trolley I wanted to buy, couldnt decide if I really needed it so I left it for now but it was really really nice. Headed for World Showcase and as we were crossing the bridge into Mexico Tricia says wouldnt this be a great location for the fireworks. I had a lean over the bridge and agreed, no-one would be in front, no trees hanging from above, no lamp posts, yes, it would be perfect for videoing. We decided we would just wait, a few other people had obviously had the same idea and joined us. I looked at my watch and almost hyperventilated. It was 7.30pm!!! The fireworks werent due to start until 10pm. I cannot believe we done this but we stayed where we were. I talk about people who stake out a spot for hours. I started to get hungry and was going to go for some popcorn. Tricia says she will go and before I can say look I really want to go for a walk before my legs sieze she has gone. The crowds start to gather and I wonder how on earth Tricia will find her way back through to the wall. I started to have a chat with an American man about Scotland. When Tricia arrived back with the popcorn I asked her if Magic Kingdom was busy, she had been away for so long I was sure she had gone there to buy my popcorn. She told me some long story about this place didnt have any and when she did find somewhere that sold it they had ran out and she had to wait until they made some more. I didnt believe a word of it. I think she was sitting in the bakery beside the fountain enjoying a drink.
At 8.59pm my American friend gets all excited because the fireworks are going to start. Everyone round about looks at him, wondering if he is joking, when we realise he isnt we tell him the fireworks dont start until 10pm. He doesnt seem to mind. I point out to Tricia that when they do start we will have been waiting for 2 ½ hours (well, I will) and that we could fly to Spain from Scotland in that time. When the fireworks start I welcome Tricia to Spain and ask if she enjoyed the flight, she looks at me like I have lost the plot. Illuminations was fantastic and the location for camcording was perfect, worth the wait. The extra firworks for July 4th were awesome, the noise of the fireworks at the end was wow, mega loud.
The walk from the bridge to the main gate took us 20 minutes, when we got to the bus stop we had to wait about 15 minutes until we got on a bus, the whole place was heaving. When we got back to the room we watched Everybody Loves Raymond (I love this programme) and then went to bed.
Meeting up with Bouncy tomorrow night, providing she arrives in the US in time for her 6.30pm dinner at the Rainforest Café.
