We knew when we came to Disney World this time that we wanted to make sure and go through the World Showcase, so that was our plan today.

We made sure that we got up earlier and didn't play around so we could get to Epcot and ride the Test Track. We just missed our bus again but luck was with us and another Epcot bus soon came. This time most of the people were going to the Magic Kingdom.

We made a beeline for the Test Track. Standby was already 45 minutes so we got a fast pass for the same time. Why stand in line when you can shop? We went into Mouse Gears to look around and time passed by much faster than it would have standing in line.

This ride totally freaked Carol out. She is so impressionable. Let's just say that everything was real to her. The rest of us liked the ride but would not stand very long in line for it.

For the first time in 3 visits the Universe of Energy was working. We quickly headed over there and just made it into the show. Carol was fine until we came to the dinosaur part. I was such a cruel person not to tell her about the dinosaurs. Boy, you could tell that we were both already tired.

We felt that getting off our feet and eating lunch was in order. I tried to convince my family that the Electric Umbrella was not the place to stop and eat lunch but they wouldn't listen to me. It was convenient and close. They wished afterward that they had.

The World Showcase was now open so off we went. We stopped back at Norway because Carol's ship had torn and she wanted a new one.

Both kids were looking forward to stopping in China. We really liked this country. Carol decided that she just might want a parasol but we would come back for it later. James picked out a knife that he thought he might want but wanted to look at Japan before he decided.

At the Kidcot station, there was quite a line. Carol joined it and soon it was her turn. Instead of a shape to represent China, the CM wrote Carol's name in Chinese on the back of her mask.

While exiting China, SI XIAN began performing. I don't know if they were a family or not but they were good. I know it must take a lot of strength and stamina to play those drums for such a long time.

We walked by an outpost that looked like an advertisement for Africa but didn't stop. I don't know if there was a Kidcot Station in there or not. I think that Africa or Australia would be a nice addition to the Showcase.

The temporary Spain exhibit was next and it did have a Kidcot Station. I was not impressed by the exhibit.

We went into Germany. This was by far the most busy Kidcot Station yet. We sat outside while Carol was busy with her mask. She got a bear shape this time. The smell of sauerkrat filled the air. If I hadn't of just eaten earlier I would have gotten some. I went into the Hummel shop since it was taking a long time for Carol to finish and saw some really cute figurines that Hummel had made just for Disney. Couldn't afford them though.

In Italy, we got to see SERGIO. It was interesting. Carol got a mask shape that she could glue to her mask or hang it. She chose to hang it. Joe and I got our picture made in front of the fountain since that is the closest we will ever be to Italy.

In the USA, Carol and Joe disappeared while I was watching the Drum and Fife Corp. Later I found out they had gone over to the Kidcot Station where Carol got a rocking horse. I would have liked to have stayed for some of the other shows but the rest of the family wanted to trek on.

We were not real impressed with Japan. It seemed so much more commercialized. We liked China much better. Carol and I saw where you could pick your own oyster and get a pearl. We saw some nice pearls but didn't get one of our own. This was one thing that I wished we had done and had a necklace made for Carol with the pearl. Oh well, maybe another time.

Carol received a white headband to glue on her mask here. This was first of two stations that did not have a CM manning the station from the country it represented.

In Morocco we had to really wind our way back through the country to find the Kidcot Station. This was the other one that did not have an ethnic CM working. I don't know what shape she received here. Morocco was neat because it had the small winding streets you had to go down to get where you wanted to go.

I noticed a sign for a character photo op and we headed off to find it. Well, there was Aladdin and the Genii. Carol and James both got a picture with them. The Genii clowned around with Carol's mask. We got a good picture of the four of them. It was not very busy since it was all the way in the back. Morocco had some really good deals on leather goods had we been buying.

France was soooo crowded! It has winding streets too. When we finally found the Kidcot Station the line was long. But we stuck it out. Don't believe Carol got a shape here but they did have paints instead of markers to use.

I saw another sign for a character greet and snuck around a corner to find Beauty and the Beast. We got a good picture of Carol here.

Carol was getting tired but she was determined to finish her mask. In the United Kingdom, the line was the longest yet. Here they gave you a butterfly to color and glue to your mask. It just so happened that Mary Poppins was in the next room so we got a picture with her too. That's probably why there were so many people.

The World Showcase Players showed up and we took a breather and watched them. They are so funny!

Our throats were parched. James got a lemon slush and I got a strawberry one. Carol got a Sprite and Joe, to be different got a chocolate cookie. I knew that somewhere close the Beavertail cart had to be so I kept a lookout for it. I found it but we decided to check out Canada first.

Carol went to her last Kidcot Station. This one was mercifully quiet and she soon got her Maple Leaf shape. We bought two Beavertails and sat down to enjoy them. They were good but a little more heavy than we like. Sopapillas are better.

James and Carol decided that they wanted to buy souveniers in China. On the way, the Disney Character Bus showed up in the Showcase Plaza. This is a great way to get a lot of pictures. James and Joe sat this one out while I followed Carol around getting pictures with Daisy Duck, Gepetto, Rafiki, Dopey and Chip and Dale. There were other characters too but we had already gotten pictures with them on other trips.

It was about 5:15 when we got to China and picked out Carol's parasol and James' knife. I paid for the knife and was told that I couldn't take it with me which was understandable. What made my heart sink was that it would be at the front package pickup in three hours. We were ready to leave the park, ride the Monorail and have dinner somewhere else. Oh well, I guess we could find something to do to pass the time. What we should have done was left the park, rode the Monorail and ate somewhere else. Then come back and pick up the knife. But we were very tired and not thinking straight.

Since I had heard that Figment was back, we went over to ride the new ride. We were not impressed. We were even more disappointed in ImageWorks. We had had such fun in there six years ago and it is boring now.

The Land was still open. We saw the Circle of Life. This always brings a tear to my eye. It was nice to get off of our feet. We also rode the Living with the Land. It was interesting as usual.

Hungry and not wanting to go back to the Showcase for dinner we made another mistake due to how tired we were and ate in the Sunshine Season Food Fair. I don't know if we were just so tired or what but we had another meal we didn't enjoy.

Carol and I left the boys and walked over to Mouse Gears to pick up a gift and a couple of souveniers. The boys caught up to us a little later. We were all dragging.

At 8:00, we went to the front desk package pickup. Surely the knife would be there and it was. Do we want to go ahead and ride the monorail? No, we passed and headed straight to the room.

Everyone slept like a log.

No lime green ribbons today.
