Nov. 2nd:
Our trip is going so fast and we are not looking
forward to leaving in 4 days. It is amazing how
time moves so fast in WDW!
Up bright and early to meet the SABS for a morning
adventure at the Animal Kingdom. We met up at
Spoodles and enjoyed a very low- key and yummy
breakfast. The anticipation of the day ahead is
sometimes great than the actual excitement of the
activities. With that, we hopped a bus to Animal
Kingdom and arrived around 9:00am. We are shocked to
see a Christmas Tree in the courtryard of the park and
cant believe how early they start decorating for the
holidays and excited that Christmas is so close!
I make it a point that we should spend some more
time at Downtown Disney to get started on the
Christmas Shopping! After a quick laugh from the
DH and Jer, Meg and I calculate a plan!!
We found Animal Kingdom to be very empty and
pretty much walked on every ride, except for
Kilamanjaro Safari- which we waited about 15 minutes for.
Our first attraction was It's Tough to be a Bug
and Vincent enjoyed his glasses more than the show.
Dinasour is one of the best rides at WDW and
we rode twice in a row. We all enjoyed Chester
and Hesters area of the park!
Kali River Rapids had no line and everyone
enjoyed it!
After a wonderful performance of the Tarzan Show,
we were very hungry for lunch and Meg and
I put our plan in full motion. Us girls suggest
we head to Downtown Disney for a great lunch
at the Earl of Sandwich and little afternoon relaxation.
The Men fell for it and off we were to the bus stop
at the Animal Kingdom. We decided to take the
first resort bus that came and it so happened to
be Port Orleans: Riverside. That worked out great!
We took the bus to Riverside and enjoyed a great
boat ride to DTD on the Sassagoula River Cruise.
Now I know, that we took the long way, but it
was so relaxing and wonderful to just enjoy the
ride and not rush!
Lunch at the Earl was great and our plan was
coming together, b/c now Vincent wanted to
ride the train- so we sent the men to ride the
train and us girls shopped! It was fun.. and DTD
is not that crowded in the afternoon.
After an wonderful afternoon of shopping eating
and having fun, we took the bus back to our resort
and relaxed by the pool till dinner.
We met up with the Sabs at the International
Gateway to EPCOT for a 7:15pm priority seating
at Teppanyaki and arrived just in time to sit down.
Lucky for us adults that Vincent was sleeping and
dinner was quieter than normal.
We sit down at the hibachi table and are seated
with another 2 couples (AKA: The Others), who look
quite innocent. Our waitress Akiko comes over
and graciously takes our dinner order and
proceeds to ask the other couples if they
are on a dining plan, etc. Im not sure that
they understood her b/c the man blurted our SPINACH.
We all looked at each other and even Akiko was a bit
stunned and chuckled under her breath.
Now by this point, we are going to lose it because
the situation was just so random and funny, that
we are trying to be polite and not look at the others
at our table. Poor Akiko, she must of asked these
people about 4 times if they were on the dining plan
and the man kept saying spinach. She finally gave up
and asked what they wanted to drink and they replied
VODKA. Again she was perplexed, but left the table and
brought back our drinks and asked again about the dining
plan and they answered her with Spinach.
At this point, we can not contain our laughter-
so we go ahead and enjoy our dinner and put
the Spinach incident behind us.
Now I know it seems like we are not being kind
or polite to strangers, but the you had to be in
the moment to experience the humor of it!
For the rest of the trip, Spinach was our key word!
Illuminations was about to start when we finished
eating so we headed out to the patio in Japan and
watched from there and stared to make our way back
to the Beach Club for Beaches NCream Ice Cream
as the show was completed. It was nice to watch
Illuminations from different vantage points around the lagoon.
As usual the ice cream was great and Jer even tried
to order his with Spinach! After such a long day we
headed to bed with thoughts of Spinach and Japan
in our head! Tomorrow, the Magic Kingdom and
Vincent's Birthday Breakfast!
