Wednesday: RING.....RING......RING.......RING........RING.......(maybe if I ignore it, it will quit)......RING......RING....RING.....Ok-no such luck by now I don't listen to the absurdly happy voice and just lift and replace the receiver. Up...GET UP.....get up NOW it's off to the Magic Kingdom (now it is time for me to fess up-today we went A.M.A. (Against ((tour guide)) Mikes Advice)-this was not a recommended day for the Magic Kingdom but we really wanted to visit it; he was right once again and I was wrong. Today I actually remembered the pedometer-we had often wondered just how far we walked each day.
We got to the park late (8:40) and were in the second wave of visitors (i.e. out side the turnstiles-major screw up). We rushed to Space Mountain but the line was already over 40 minutes and growing-fast pass it, now our TTS bails to go off on his own (I would apologize to the other people in the park for turning him loose on them but it was our vacation also) and off to the Tea Cups-for some reason I love this ride. By the time it's over my arms and shoulders are aching and I'm walking like I've been drinking all day. I'm not going to list everything we did but we were able to do some of our 'must see' attractions but by now it's almost 12:30 and there are about 53,251,634 people in the park with more pouring thru the gates-do they not understand that now the wait times all exceed 1 hour and they will get to spend their valuable and limited vacation time in lines? Oh-well not our problem; we hit Space Mountain on the way out with our fast pass.
Off to Epcot-fast pass Sourin (and by the way you must do this early-the fast passes WILL run out as early as 1:00 and always by 3:00; lines of over 100 minutes are not unusual), single rider line for Mission Space and Test track a couple of time then it's off to stroll the World Showcase sampling the beers at each, seeing their shows and doing that thing most every male dreads-shopping
.
By the time our 5:00 reservations came around for Alfredo's we were starved. I'm not going to attempt to use the names they did for the food-wifey had a ½ a chicken, TTS had the 3 pasta's and the bean soup, and I had the veal and bean soup-once again a wonderful meal. We saved $ 20.56 with the DDE card-we have now saved a total of $86.93 for a card that only cost $50.00-am I good or what? TTS wanted to go back and swim so we cut him free, we stayed and strolled, watched Illuminations again. Being the polite people we are once again we allowed everyone else to leave the parks before we sauntered out. Deep philosophical discussions ensued as to just how much cash Disney World must throw off per day, what Walk Disney would think of his parks now, the demand for accountants there (my field) but most importantly which country had the coldest beer and which country had the best tasting beer (England on both counts but only if you go in the pub), By now wifey has collected 4 of the ½ yard drinking glasses from England-little known fact time...any country will refill that glass for the price of their regular beer cup.
As we approached the bus we stopped for a survey on the transportation and got a fast pass for 3 people on any ride for the next day for out time (note to self-start looking for these people taking surveys-5 minute survey=free fast pass--there not a better deal around). Got back to the room and checked-we had walked 17.5 miles today. Our mid-day break consisted of the monorail ride to Epcot (told ya we were commando's)
