Cast: Me (lori) Hubby (bob), Son (isaac) 15, son Jacob 13, Daughter-Grace 8, and Corrina daughter 8.
Ok it is taking me for ever to do my trip report...hopefully I will get done before Easter.
One comment: I used the door magnets with pictures of the family on them and they worked great for the girls to be able to find the rooms.
Tuesday, St. Maarten Day!!
We had the Mickey wake up call everyday! This day we awoke at 6:30 a.m. to get ready. I had all the kids ready by 8:15.
We headed to Parrot Cay for a great breakfast buffet with omelets. We were not doing an excursion here. Instead I had reserved a van to drive around and explore the islands and beaches. We had reserved a van with Hertz. Do not use hertz. We were off the boat at 9:15 a.m. I walked straight to the Hertz window with my confirmation number in hand. I told the guy I had reserved a van. Of course he says he does not have anyeft. He hollers at the Best Deals guy to get me a van and give me the van for the price of the van that I had not paid yet. Anyway just save yourself the hassle and use the Best Deals car rental place....After getting our tiny van we were off. We headed counter clockwise around the island as everyone else was stacked up in long lines going clockwise around the island. It was wonderfully relaxing. We stopped at different beach stops and would rent a chair for awhile and then head out again. We shopped in the open market and then got a coconut drink We headed back toward the ship and turned the car in. Next we took the kids back to the ship and fed them a late lunch.
Then they all went their seperate ways. Bob Jacob and myself headed out to do some jewelry shopping. Shopped for a couple hours and oh darn I could find nothing to buy...nothing even tempted me this trip. As we walked to the ship...there sat the Queen Mary 2 way out in the distance tendering in.
Up we went to the Bridge Tour. Very good questions/answers were asked. Learned a lot and a great new perspective. I really enjoyed the tour. Later we ate dinner in Parrot Cay and then Bob and Jacob went to the movie Hidalgo.
Each evening after the girls had settled in I went up on deck 9 to check my e-mail, drink a beer and walk around and see if I could catch the boys (staying out of trouble...or not)....just checking up on them. Wandering around after the crowds were gone is my favorite part of the day. Beautiful up there even when the weather is bad. Not looking forward to St. Thomas day as we have to get the kids up very early and god only knows when those boys will sleep.
