OK, Monday morning rolls around and we are ready for Animal Kingdom. My family is really looking forward to going to this park and it does not disappoint us. We use the alternate entry into the park (through the Rainforest Cafe) and stand in line with about 8 other people (thank you DIS) instead of the 300 people at the main gates. Make the slow run/fast jog to Safari and get fast pass. This was one of the funniest things we saw all week. All of the people entering the park are heading for Safari. Everyone is trying to look like their not hurrying but trying not to let anyone else pass them. After securing FP for 8:30 we walk the gorilla trail. We did not encounter a single person on this trail. It was incredible. It was like having a walk through the forest all by yourself in the middle of WDW. After the trail, it was time for FP. The standby was like 30 minutes at this point so we got some nasty looks as we passed by everyone. We loved this ride. Our guide was into the whole story line and made it humorous. We saw tons of animals. Everyone agreed we needed to do this again.
Off to Kali Rapids to get FP and guess what? No line. None! Walked on! Tink started not to ride this. We had gotten soaked at Sea World at the Shamu show and she was not in the mood to walk around a park dripping wet all day again but decided to go anyway. We love this ride. I am not into big drops and Bug is really scared of the big rides so this one of just right for us. We get lightly sprayed but no one gets wet. WELL, nothing doing but we ride again. Tink agrees that it was fun and since there is still no line we get right back on. BUT, this time we have a boat full. When we go down drop, Tink and Bug are on the down side and a wall of water comes washing into the boat. They are SOAKED. Bug is laughing and laughing but Tink is not. Bug takes off shoes and wrings socks out. Tink's smile returns when we stop to operate the straying fountains at unsuspecting victims at the end of the ride.
On to Flights of Wonders and get FP for Its Tough To Be A Bug. Flights of Wonder is a show that is not to be missed! Now its time for Its Tough To Be a Bug. I must say I was not totally prepared for this. Bug (hence her nickname) is not afraid of bugs at all. Likes to catch any wiggling or crawling thing on the ground but this scared her. I actually thought I was going to have to get up and leave with her. She was a little concerned about this show so we sat at the end of the row, had her take her 3-D glasses off, had her lean forward so she wouldn't get the bee surprise but she still a little freaked. She did laugh when the slugs and cockroaches left the room.
We spent the rest of our time looking at the "tree", eating lunch, visiting Mickeyland to get autographs and just generally soaking up the atmosphere. By this time, it 2:30 pm and its getting hot and we are tired. We decide to leave AK but promise to return before we end our trip.
After resting for a while we visit EPCOT (drive car over to Beach Club and walk into World Showcase.) I love this option. I'm not much on mass transportation (panic attacks and not being able to leave don't go hand-in-hand) and love parking and walking in. We have supper at Rose and Crown. We enjoyed our supper but I'm not sure we would eat here again. We felt our meal was very heavy for hot weather but it was really good. We were unable to get a lower patio table (we were under awning) so we move after supper to the patio area next to the Rose and Crown. Spend an enjoyable 45 minutes chatting with people as we wait for Illuminations to begin. We didn't see this the last time we were here so we are awed by the show. Watch the masses of people head for the main gate as we stroll back down to Beach Club.
Back to cabin and our nightly ride on the golf cart through the campgrounds. Another great day!
When we join our family again, we get a taste of Beverly and "oh no another 3-D show"!
