Ok...got DH out the door to work so I can add more to my trip report. He works at Boeing on the F22 Raptor and someone drilled right through a skin so now he has to work some weekends to get this jet back on schedule. Poor guy.
Anyway...back to some happier times.
Sunday - Weather - mid 70s
I must have been up at the crack of dawn this morning because the park opened at 8:00 AM, yet I still had time to grab breakfast at Dennys, according to my notes.
We started this day with all of us entering DL, then while DeWayne & Corey power-walked down Main Street to grab FPs for SM, the rest of us got our hands stamped and headed over to DCA to wait for them.
When our "runners" met up with us, we entered DCA then went to rent Grandma an Electric Vehicle for the day. From this day on...I rented one every day and Shelli got one for the last 3 days of our vacation. I won't bore you with our medical problems...but having these vehicles made our vacation filled with fun instead of constant pain. I'm so glad we set aside money for this.
After getting my EV, we headed straight for Soarin. Shelli, Craig & Brandon had never been on this attraction so it was a "must do." They loved it. Wait time was 15 minutes. Got a FP for later.
After our flight, Brandon had to go see Lightening McQueen. When I bought the DVD of Cars, I didn't see it for months because Brandon had to watch it every single day.
We made our way up the hill, past Grizzly Rapids.
Craig cools his heels and soaks in the atmosphere. He's a truck driver and doesn't do a whole lot of walking so his doggies were barking at him big time.
A little further up the path we run into Trash. What a great time we had watching Brandon interact with him. He was a bit scared at first, but with Grandpa holding his hand, he finally got up close.
Trash was fascinated by Brandson's harness and kept talking about the monkey on his back.
I didn't get any photos of CA Screamin'...in fact I didn't get hardly any photos of any of the attractions this trip. I think it's because I had so many already from our other vaction.
Anyway...while the rest of us were riding Screamin', Brandon tried his luck at the games on the Pier. Standby line was 15 minutes. Grabbed a FP for later.
We stuck around this area for awhile while the youngsters rode Mailboomer, the Sun Wheel, and the Golden Zephyr.
We were pretty hungry by this time, so we made our way to MCDs for lunch. I don't like MCDs so Chris went down the path and bought me one of those famous corn dogs that I had read so much about here on DIS. DeWayne couldn't believe how big it was and I think he regretted not getting one for himself so being the wonderful wife that I am, I shared mine with him. I couldn't have eaten the whole thing anyway. It was very good!
After lunch, it was time for TOT. This is the one ride that I was a little anxious about Brandon going on. Not only is it a dark ride, which he hates, but the drops are pretty intense. None of Shelli's family had ever been on it, so they didn't know what to expect either. He had loved Star Tours though, so we thought we'd give it a try. On our way over to the other side of the park we ran into some characters.
Chip 'n' Dale had a great time with Brandon and the monkey on his back. They took the harness from Shelli and began running down the street with him. Shelli says it was the highlight of the day and a memory she'll never forget.
