Wednesday March 9 - Today was a wet raining day, we decided to go ahead and go to AK as planned. Everyone at breakfast before we left so all I have to report is lunch.
I really had my heart set on some BBQ from the Flame Tree BBQ but we took a wrong turn somewhere along the way and came into Dinoland from the other side. As mom & dad were with us today and they were cold and tired decided to just go into Restarauntosaurus. Had planned on everyone going to Tuskers and I was going to pop down here and grab happy meals for the kids and bring them back. Dad insists on calling this McDonalds because they had McDonalds fries and nuggets. Kids had the nugget Happy Meals which were the same thing you'd get at any McDonalds. DH had the cheeseburger and fries, he enjoyed his meal. For some odd reason, I ordered the hot dog, don't know why, I am not even really fond of hot dogs. It was okay but way to much hotdog for me. They have several different things on the topping bar, similar to Pecos Bills. Mom & Dad raved about their meal, hamburgers......dad also ordered a strawberry shortcake and he said it was the best one he ever had.
This was an okay meal for us.....it was very crowded though. While the guys stood in line to get the food me, the kids, & mom snagged a table, only 4 chairs. Noticed he couple next to us was getting ready to leave, they had 2 small kids, had to get on ponchos etc....so about the time dad got there with the food, they were just leaving, mom is standing there waiting on the table and another lady (short dark hair and glasses) with a daughter squeeze in front of my mom (in her 70's) and take the table. So if you are reading this and realize this was you.....shame, shame, shame. Another couple at a bigger table, they had 4 or 5 kids, shared their table with them though, so it worked out okay.
