Up at 7:30, had some breakfast at Capt' Cook's. Cereal, juice, etc.....$22.00 Walked over to the Floridian, Sarah jogged, I pedaled. Are we nuts, I keep asking myself, like we're not getting enough exercise. Marie and Sarah have appointments for facials or some such thing, so they stay, I head off to shower. A couple of free hours all to myself, gee, what to do??
Actually, by the time I walked back and showered and dressed there really wasn't that much time to go anywhere. I had to meet them for lunch at the Floridian Cafe at noon. So, I just went to the Magic Kingdom to do some shopping and take a few pictures. It feels very strange to me to be there alone, I don't know how some people can do it. A friend from work wanted me to pick up some pins for him, he's into the collecting pretty heavy. I ended up buying a few for myself, one each for our favorite hotels, yes, even the Poly. It may smell but I still like it. Wandered around a bit then to the monorail to get to the Floridian for lunch.
Oh, forgot to mention yesterday, we paid our visit to our brick at the entrance to MK. Have to have a picture each time. Bought it in '94 and it still looks good even in a high traffic area. It's right in front of the stroller rental place. We had seen some on our walks between the Poly and the Floridian that had '97 and '98 dates on them and they were barely legible. Don't make 'em like they used to.
That just made me realize that my list of prior visits has been wrong. I had Beach Club in '92 & '93 but it must have been '94. Bricks don't lie. Sarah also says that the Vero Beach thing was in '96. Does anyone know when it opened ? Hey, I'm a child of the 60's, my memory isn't that great.
Waited in GF lobby about five minutes till the girls showed up and went to lunch.
We shared a spinach dip with bread for appetizer
Sarah & Marie - Some freshwater fish sandwich ( Didn't recognize the name at all. They said it was good.
Me - Talapia over rice
Shared Strawberry cheesecake & Key Lime Pie for dessert.

It was during lunch that I made the fatal mistake of asking about their spa experience. "Oh it was great. We had facials and Sarah had a body scrub and bought a few products that they recommended and don't we look nice and blah, blah, blah". Well that sounds great, I say, trying to seem interested. Oh, and what did it cost? A few minutes after the smelling salts, I was back to my senses. WOW, that was expensive. I mean I have a facial every couple days, it's called shaving, probably runs me about 39 cents a shave. I won't even post the amount, so don't ask. Let's just say we could have stayed a couple more nights.
Onward and upward, back to the room to change. Sarah & I back to marina to rent watermouse before they close. Must have had the lamest boat in the entire fleet, ducks where paddling past us. Back to marina, switch boats.... This is more like it, took turns driving and had a good time, stayed out about an hour.
Had to go back and shower for dinner, only PS we could get for Fantasmic was a 4:50 at Mama Melrose. Took the bus and arrived at MGM about 4:00. Me and Sare did TOT, about 10 minute wait. Love it ,love it, love it. Our favorite ride in the park. Just love listening to the people scream. We always concentrate on doing stupid poses when the camera flashes. Got fastpass. No time for anything else so we wander over to Mama's.
Nobody's really hungry, we just ate at 12:30, last night we were eating at 11:00 but we made the best of it. Truth be told, for the money we paid the food wasn't good at all. We have seven restaurants within a ten minute drive from our house that are better. I understand that we're paying for our seating but ....
Sarah - Salmon
Marie - Eggplant Parm.
Me - Chicken Parm.

Went to Muppetvision, still funny after all these years, went to R&R coaster, about 10 minute wait, back to TOT, good thing we fastpassed, there's a line now. Some of the stuff you hear while waiting in line is just great. I swear you could write a book. There was a guy in front of us with a few kids who was not speaking kindly of his ex and / or separated wife. It's probably not something you should be saying to your kids but it's definitely not something you should be airing in public. Entertaining though.
Anyway, the skies are looking very threathening. Very dark clouds and lightning a ways off. We head over to Fantasmic a little after 8:00. Get to our seats about 8:20, nice seats, and it starts to rain. I start the no rain chant from the Woodstock era, only crickets respond. Oops, I've dated myself. Should we go buy parkas or just tough it out. Hey, as long as my camera isn't getting wet, I don't care. After 10 minutes the rain stops. Yeeeaaahhhh!!!!! Still doesn't look good, they're making announcements about having to cancel the show if there is lightning. We hold our breath and bite our nails. Oh God no, it's, it's, not raining, they're doing the wave. Stop the madness!!
Show went off on schedule, no rain, it was great. No problem getting back. Sat on balcony watching lightning, ok, drank a Heinie and watched the lightning. Still no rain. Off to bed about 11:30: Good Night.
