Today was DH birthday so he wanted to spend the day at Epcot. No problem there as it was the last day of the flower show, and I had wanted to go see it. So up and out the door we go. We decided to drive which was probably not the best idea for us to do. We were there by 10:30 or so and the parking lot was very full!! It seemed to take forever to park, something I don't remember from past trips. Since it was the last day of the flower show I guess it could be expected. Did you know there were 50 Hidden Mickey's in this years show? I did not find them all, but I found some. As for the flower displays, some of them were just beautiful!! I really enjoyed wandering around and looking at them. The butterfly house was a hit with my daughter, who just loves them.
The first thing the kids wanted to do was hit Ice Station Cool, but it was closed, something about remodeling it so after there disappointment, we headed over to get a FP for Soarin. The wait without a FP was ridiculously long, (like 2 hours!!) and I always wonder why more people don't use the FP. Since we had time before we could return, we headed over to Living Seas, which I had not been to in many, many trips. We saw Turtle Talk with Crush and Dory was part of the show. My 2 kids loved this show. I thought it was really neat and wanted to see it again with another crowd, but never got around to it. On our way over to Imagination, we met up with Nemo for pictures then did the Imagination ride. I liked the show from years ago, and although this one is okay, I feel like it is missing something. I never knew there was a Figment meet and greet, but I do now. There was nobody there so the kids had a great interaction with him. I asked the CM if a lot of people come see him and she said no. A shame really because I bet he would draw lots of kids for photos.
It was now time for Soarin, and although we had a FP, we still had to wait like 20 minutes. Better than 2 hours though!! I had not heard a lot about the ride nor had I read a lot about it so I was excited to ride. We all loved it!! Did you know there are 2 Hidden Mickeys on the ride? I found them both but won't write it here in case there are some who don't want to know. The seats were comfortable and you don't go up real high once the ride starts, or at least that's my interpretation of it. Loved the smell of the orange groves-very soothing!! My 6 year old said this was his favorite thing of the entire trip.
Every trip I say I am going to eat in Japan's Yakitori House and never do. So after Soarin, we looked at some of the flower displays and headed over to Japan where I finally ate there. I had udon noddles and DH and the kids had teriyaki chicken. Yummy!!!! We wondered through the countries until it was time for our PS at Le Cellier in Canada.
Last time we ate here was about 4 years ago and I did not care for it. Since today was DH birthday, this was his choice for dinner. I am happy to say it was much better than I remember. DH had a steak of some kind and I had salmon, which was very good, We also tried the cheddar cheese soup, based on recommendations from you guys, and we both really enjoyed that as well. This will remain on our places to eat next time! We wandered through Epcot and headed back to Olivia's at OKW for dessert. DH does not like any attention being drawn to him , so I could not do anything special for his birthday at the restaurant. I did it once a long time ago and will never do it again! We had dessert at Olivia's, which was delicious as usual. Again, I noted that Olivia's was quite crowded.
We headed back to the room, and started thinking about our next day, which would be MK.
