Day 3 Cast: Myself 40ish
Sister MUCH older 40ish
NOT!
Both sans children and hubbies
I originally wanted preferred view but couldnt get it for the 4 nites, so I took the last 2 nites in a preferred, which meant packing up, storing luggage, and waiting for room to be ready later that day. Boohoo, Sandy was leaving .(she has a business to get back to) and sister was flying in. She waited until Sis arrived at 11 am via Tiffany Town Car .I really could have picked her up, but decided to let Tiffany do it. We said goodbye to Sandy stored Siss luggage (only had one piece for the 3 nites), and off we went to Epcot.
Sis and I took the boat to Epcot we stopped at Rose and Crown and shared fish and chips there .a tad greasy but very good! We strolled around WS,,,,caught the statue show .had a crepe (had a hair in it so got another, yuck) from a stand, paid too much for it (3.50 or so) and it was awful .I tried an ice cream cone from the same stand, and put some on the crepe, but it was still pretty disgusting, like rubber (they have them pre-made and just heated up). We checked out the different countries, but I forgot to check out the pearls in Japan. Someone told me they bought a starter pearl necklace for their daughter there, and added to it each visit, so I thought it was a great idea ..(memory not what is used to be).
We headed for the front gate and jumped on the monorail to go to MK,,,,but when we got there the lines were long just for checking your bags, so we went on to the Poly and checked out Ohanas. We had a drink there, Mai Tai for sis, Scorpion bowl for me, awesome J Bought some things in the gift shop, and got on the monorail back to Epcot. My Sister isnt big on rides, so we strolled around in WS,,,.and thought about going to the AP lounge in the Land but she really wanted to get to the room and relax a minute. So we took the boat back to BWV and got our room (#4051), and boy were we impressed with the view! We could watch the boats come and go, see a juggler, and a cowgirl teaching lasso tricks, see the Spaceship Earth at Epcot watch the sunrise .beautiful J
My sister is big on the Red Sox, so by now she just HAD to go to the sports club, ESPN, on the boardwalk. I told her Id meet her down there an hour later, because she was just TOO anxious to see her Sox. Aahh but it gave me time to rest my poor blistered feet. When I got there, a bunch of guys were talking sports with her and she was just having a great ole time there. There were some businessmen there from the Dolphin & Swan and they ordered up a HUGE football dish FILLED with ice cream and you name it, I guess it was like the kitchen sink I keep hearing about at Beaches and Cream. They kept passing it around the bar and everyone got a spoon to sample it. I should say, I WAS going to sample it, until the idiot before me took her spoon, sampled it, and then had the nerve to stick the SAME SPOON back into the dish for another taste! Ewwww ..LOL, that really ticked me off. The place was pretty quiet considering all the tvs they had going,,,,,I spose it would get louder later, as it was still early. I had to laugh when I used the powder room, there were actually tvs in there! LMAO .too funny,,,,I guess noone wants to miss a single play. Word of caution, it was FREEZING in there and I was wishing I had a sweater .I went next door to the store and bought a sweatshirt for my sister,,,but I didnt like any of them so I suffered in silence, martyr that I am J
I had to drag her out of there as we were going to DD for dinner. Hopped on the bus and strolled around DD deciding where to dine. We were told that Portobellos was a good place so off we went. Being as we didnt have PS ressies, we opted to sit at the bar (now dont get the wrong idea, we really are NOT barflies J ) so as to get served quicker, as I was starving! Well, they first brought out the bread, ooooh that nice crusty bread that was warm and served with a WONDERFUL whole roasted garlic that was stupendous! We each had one drink and we each ordered .get this Crusted Steak! I thought I died and went to heaven, it was served with garlic potatoes (good thing I had Certs) and was the best I steak Id had since Le Cellier! I highly recommend the place and it only cost 68 dollars (including the two drinks) and she had dessert! The service was great and the food was excellent, what more could you ask for?
Now were looking to find some nitelife so I took her to the Comedy Warehouse because it was so much fun with Sandy. We laughed a lot and she enjoyed herself immensely. Now by this time, Im all in, and all she can talk about is going back to ESPN so I said Lets go! Stopped in there for a short time and couldnt keep my eyes open so we went back to the room ( I must be getting old L). Gave sis the king and I collapsed on the sofa aaaaahhhhh!
