DAY 2- Saturday
Yippeee!!! Today is a new day. Even though it cost us some to make the change we are all really relieved that things turned out this way. We catch the 8:30am flight to Orlando.
Rabbit from Yourride was very nice about the change. He was there to meet us at the airport. He had Monsters Inc. playing on the DVD in the van for the kids. We made our 30 min grocery stop at Publix. Let me tell you- I felt like a contestant on Super Market Sweep. Tink and I made it back to the van with 1 minute to spare.
We arrive at CBR and check in. Rooms are not quite ready so we head to OPR for lunch. The rooms are ready by 3:00pm and I was sooooo excited I got all 3 of my requests. Jamaica 44, adjoining rooms, and downstairs. ( I decided to be creative with my faxed request so I worded it in the form of a limerick. "ODE TO A ROOM CONTROLLER)
We did have to call and remind them of the 2 cribs and the frig for Pan and Tink, but it was really no big deal. Also there are no hair dryers in the room, I can't believe I missed that on the boards so we requested those as well.
A side note--One thing I found to be sort of troubling this day was the tipping we did for our luggage. We tipped the bellman at Hilton, we tipped the bus driver of the Hilton bus, we tipped the skycap at the New Orleans airport, we tipped the skycap at the Orlando airport that Rabbit intoduced us to while he went to pull around the van, we tipped Rabbit and then we tipped the WDW bellman who delivered our bags to the room. Is it just me or does this seem a little insane to anyone else?
Now back to the story
Tink and I took Jas, Ariel and lil'hook to DD for some shopping. Jas spent almost all of her souvenir money right off the bat at World of Disney. We had an ice cream treat -yummy Strawberry Minnie Bar for me. We purchased our ornaments at the Christmas shop. Jas and Ariel collect the big Book sets of ornaments so they each bought a new set. $32 is alot but they have such a good time every Christmas putting their Disney ornaments on the tree. And better collectible WDW ornaments than another Barbie doll.
We got back to our room and everyone went for a swim in the Jamaica pool. Nice and refreshing.
Before bed everyone had a good laugh at the DN's expense when our suitcase was opened to reveal 5 neat stacks of ziplock bags with each person's name and the weekday marked on top. Each bag contained shorts, shirt, undies and socks for the day. The family was color coordinated each day I might add. And I fit 8 days worth of clothes for 5 of us in 1 suitcase!! Laugh it up I said- but I won't have to hear where's my socks, I can't find my shorts, you didn't pack me enough underwear etc... this week.
Well off to dreamland at 10:00pm wake up calls a comin at 5:45am for the DN.
