Day 2 (Aug 25, 2003) MGM Studios

After breakfast in our room, we left the CR at about 9 am; our timing was perfect for catching the bus. Unfortunately, our communication was not. DH assumed I had the tickets because I am the organizer. I assumed he had the tickets because he put them in his wallet at the TTC. What he forgot to tell me is that he took them out of his wallet and put them on top of the TV in our room. So after a round trip to MGM and back again, we finally get into MGM a little before 10. We went straight to Playhouse Disney which captivated both girls. DD1 was a little shy at first, but was into it by the end. DD2, on the other hand, was jamming from the very beginning. Of course, that is normal for both girls. After Playhouse Disney, we headed to the Pizza Planet Arcade for lunch. DH had a veggie pizza, DDs had a pepperoni pizza, and I had Toy Story Salad. It was surprisingly good. DH really enjoyed his pizza, and my salad was great. It was very cold (may have been frozen at one time) which was perfect for me at that moment. After lunch we wandered over to the Backlot Tour. DDs were both pretty cranky by the time we got in there, but they enjoyed the special effects show. We had decided to go back to the resort for a nap after the backlot tour, so what happens? We got on the trams, and DD2 fell asleep. She slept through the whole ride including Catastrophe Canyon (she and I were even on the left side), through the walk back to our stroller (boy is she getting heavy), and didn’t even flinch when we put her back in the stroller. So DH decided that we should just hang in the park for a while since she was sleeping. Older DD also caught a quick catnap on the tram. So DD1 decided she wanted to ride Tower of Terror. This is the same girl who freaked on Dumbo and Triceratops Spin 16 months ago. I love Tower of Terror but was not counting on actually riding it. We walked straight into the hotel into the introduction room with no wait (no FP needed), then had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes to board our elevator. DD was great! I told her several times that she did not have to ride if she didn’t want to, but once we were on the elevator, she could not change her mind. She didn’t get nervous until we were standing on our numbers to get into the elevator. Then she decides she is scared. I asked her if she wanted to leave, but she said no. But she wanted to sit in my lap for the ride. I explained to her that she couldn’t, but that she could sit right next to me. She got in her seat and fastened her seat belt, and had a great time. She screamed a little bit, but I had told her ahead of time that it was ok to scream, but she was nothing compared to the teenage girls in front of us!! She had a blast, but decided she did not want to ride again. We then found DH and DD2 (who had woken up from her nap) at the Sorcerer’s Hat at the mass character greeting. Shortly after that we decided to leave, and got back to the CR just before the heavens opened up with the daily storm. Had planned to head back out after the rain to the Boardwalk for dinner at ESPN and leave DH there to watch his beloved Broncos play. That didn’t actually happen. Instead we hopped into Epcot and had dinner at the San Angel Inn. For someone used to Tex Mex, I found this restaurant bland and boring. I didn’t even care for the Margaritas!! I had Puntas De Filete and DH had Pollo a la Rajas. He enjoyed his, but mine was so-so. DDs split a Chicken Quesadilla kids meal which they devoured. No dessert here! We wandered down to France and got some pastries to go and headed back to the hotel for a dessert party in the room. Baths and bed for the girls, and Broncos and wine for DH and I! Next stop, Epcot!

I too was not impressed with San Angel the last time we went, then again, I am a 9 Dragons fan, lol. I know everyone else hates that restaurant but me, go figure!

Looking forward to reading the rest of your report, thanks!
