Got up at 5:30 after going to bed at 1:30. I could tell that this wouldn't be a restful vacation. The Beach Club is a great place to stay. Loved our room - we were at the end with the quiet pool and it took us just 5 minutes to walk to Epcot. They had upgraded us from a standard view to a water view. Said they try to do that with the guests that are going on the Disney Cruise after the stay in the parks. For some reason the row of hedges outside the patios were all tall except for ours. There it had been cut short and it had a tiny path which took 2 steps and you were on the sidewalk by the pool. Very handy. Stormalong Bay was great and I went swimming there every day. Ate a lot of our breakfast meals at Beaches and Cream. Great Mickey doughnuts (along with fruit and other pastries).
Went to EE at MGM and rode ToT twice. By 8:10 The Aerosmith ride was already a 55 minute wait so we got a fast pass. My oldest daughter and I could not convince my hubby and youngest daughter to do the ride. Too bad, it's one of my favorites. It was a bit crowded because they were filming a TV special with Shaggy. I had no idea who this was but my girls did and we did get to see him. However, he was standing close to Mickey and I didn't even notice Shaggy because this was my first glimpse of Mickey on this trip and I became extremely excited and started waving to Mickey. My daughter had to inform me that everyone else was yelling at waving at Shaggy.
We had a PS at Sci-Fi. Had to wait about 15 minutes but any one who came in without a priority seating was told to come back around 3:30 because that was the first opening they had. Our PS was for 11:30. Food was not great - my pork tenderloin sandwich was very dry. I had heard that the food was not great so I didn't expect anything terrific. My hubby's prime rib sandwich was ok as were the girls hamburgers. The atmosphere was great which I guess is what we were paying for. We had done most of the main attractions so we went back to the room for a swim. My feet were starting to get blisters and the sand on the bottom of stormalong Bay made for a wonderful massage. It started raining at 3:15 so we had to get out. (We thought we should charge Florida $10,000 becuase we bought so much rain for them. It rained the day we came in (Tuesday) and Wednesday and Thursday - the weather man said that on Thursday some parts of Orlando received 3 inches of rain which I think was all at Disney)
Went back to MGM for 5:30 Fantasmic Dinner Package PS at Mama Melrose's. They were not very busy yet and we didn't have to wait at all. (I had called in advance before we left on our trip and booked the package. Our hotel was surprised and said that normally they didn't do that. I informed them that I learned about doing this on the internet from these boards) Forgot to mention that from Beach Club we took the boat. Only took about 20-25 minutes. This included our wait time. They said we could walk but it would take about 30 minutes and with my blisters forming I was in no mood for extra walking. For dinner three of us ordered different pizzas and my youngest daughter ordered pasta with chicken. I liked the pepperoni pizza the best. The cheese pizza was too salty.
Fantasmic was at 9:00 and we went in about 8:15. There were already a lot of people sitting in the priority seating area. Great show. As soon as it was over we made a quick getaway to the boat and got back to the Beach Club fairly fast. I was surpirsed. I think we beat most of the crowd getting out of there. However, by the time we got to the boat it felt like my feet were on fire. Total exhaustion for the 2nd night in a row. But that's what I was counting on - I didn't want to miss a minute of the excitement.
