Leaving from Richmond Va on wed night My husband and myself for an adult only trip. Meeting another richmond couple there, and my sister and her fiancee(first meeting).

Due to the lousy weather forecast, we moved our trip up a day, so we arrived in Jacksonville wed night at 1130pm . of course, the rental car company we had a ress. with was out of cars( they took the reservation, just didnt HOLd the reservation : ) by the time we got out of Jville, it was about 1200. we were lucky to get out by then!
It sounded like such a good idea at the time, but it was really rough driving that late,, the good news was no traffic, and we got checked in in seconds.

Got up a little late, and hit downtown disney guest relations to activate our annual pass. no one was there(thanks disboards for that tip). bought a lanyard with plastic zip case for the ap and drove to magic kingdom by 1030. parked close enough to walk to transportion center and off we went!

Walked down main street, got first glimpse of green wall. I was prepared so it wasn't as bad as I thought. Having been to MK many times, I was ok, but I felt for people on their first trip....Got a cup ofcapucino at sleepy hollow and headed to Haunted Mansion. walked right on. off to Splash Mountain. Got a fast pass to thunder mountain, walked right on Splash , took some pictures then got on with FP to thunder mountain.
Next was Pirates, walked onto that, then jungle cruise(5 min) then Swiss family treehouse(walked on)

The weather thursday was perfect low 70's partly cloudy, windy, but a warm wind. No crowds.

Headed to Fantasyland got FP for pooh( the guy just handed us one without the machine) so we then got another FP for Mickeys philharmagic..

Lunchtime...we walked up to Cinderellas royal table to see if they had anything, they didn't till late in the afternoon, so off to Tony's where we had a PS. We like the menu better at Cinderellas but were told they couldn't take PS for 2. when I called to make the ps there, she told me there weren't many ressies for that day, and walk up would be no problem. it must have gotten busier than she thought it would be.

Tony's was a disappointment. We've eaten there many times before, and this time had poor service, very slow, soup was cool, sandwich was pricey and had no flavor. Used our DDE confirmation email no problem. he asked to see our AP. Loved the DDE!

Back to fantasyland for Pooh, then went to sleep hollow for coffee again and watch the 3pm parade next to sleepy hollow. great spot in the back on a bench.
Left there, back with fp for mickeys phil. then rode the carosel, got to see the sword in the stone.
went over to hall of presidents, and popped over to tom sawyers island

went to tomorrowland. DH can't ride space mountain, saving that to do with sis on sat. rode wedway or whateverit is called now, carosel of progress(dh favorite ride) grabbed a quick snack at cosmic rays, it was ok, but we both wished we had waited till park closed at had gone to Ohana's.

time to get spot for spectromagic. went back tosleepy hollow for funnel cake and coffee , I got a cappucino which I thought was good, got our table next to the water at 630, Parade started at 7, sprinkles started, I had the poncho in my backpack, although didn't really need it. loved the parade, and had great view.

Waited for wishes. it was way to windy for tinkerbell, fireworks started and we couldn't see a thing. they were going up over haunted mansion, we took the back sidewalk over to liberty square and had perfect view of fireworks. they were fantastic.

Left there, shopped on main street.walked to car and headed back to the Marriot.
IT was an almost perfect day (ohana;s would have made it perfect)

weather forecast for friday sounds really bad. We have our timeshare presentation at 1045, so we were hoping by the time we were finished the weather would be ok,....little did we know what was coming!

Now, I have an AP, so this doesn't apply to me *but*... I've been told that a DDE membership can be bought by *anyone* who wants to, even though the price does vary for the different types of buyers(anywhere from $75 to $50).

Does anybody know if DDE membership is confined to AP-holders & Florida residents or *not*?

thanks,
agnes!

my understanding is you have to be an AP holder or florida resident.
We showed our AP whenever we showed our DDE

you sure accomplished alot for that day........I hope that the weather holds out
